I had my HbA1c tested today in preparation for meeting the endo on Friday. My last test was 40 days ago, 13.1%. Today, 8.8!
So, while I'm still reeling, figuring out what I need to know, it looks like I'm doing some things right and I'm very happy about it. I know that I need to be much lower, but after only 40 days, this is pretty good!
I'd add too that I think the test generally covers > 40 days so to be at 8.8 so quickly after 13.1 is a very significant move. I'd suspect you are "operating" at a level below 8.8%?
Acidrock, my BG hovers around 6.4 mmol/L, on average. I reckon it will take a couple of months for that to show up on an A1c test, though, given the longevity of red blood cells (120 days, right?). I'm just really pleased that the difference I've seen in my many-times-a-day BG tests is also reflected in the A1c. I'm feeling more hopeful than I was!
Well done! That's excellent! Can't wait to see my A1C, as I have been having really good sugars for the last 4 months. I'm going again mid December :-)
