Does anyone else experience heart palpitations (spelling?) while pregnant? I seem to get them when I do a lot or exercise. I got them before I was pregnant once in awhile, but now I seem to get them everyday. My blood pressure is good, and I'm active (pretty much the same as I was before pregnancy...cut back a little, but not much).
Really common during pregnancy. I had the same thing and spoke with my OB who said that even very frequent and extreme palpitations don't necessarily mean anything when you are pregnant. My understanding is that its because your blood volume increases so much over pregnancy, you get palpitations from your cardiovascular system adjusting to the increase. For peace of mind, you could go see your OB and request a take-home heart monitor to get a sense of whether anything funny is going on -- totally noninvasive, won't effect your baby, and might make you feel less stressed.
If it helps, I got the worst palpitations in my second trimester and then it got better towards my third.
Thanks for posting this. I never thought about it, but I guess I have them too during the night mostly... had them before I was pregnant, but I my heart pressure is normal...
I am 18 weeks pregnant and get heart palp's too. I get them when I'm sitting doing nothing.I talked with OB since i used to get them occasionally before I was pregnant and she said its from the blood volume increase. She said she would only be worried if I was passing out from them or having chest pain.I hope yours get better!!
I get these. As a precaution I got an ekg done and my heart is fine. It’s common in pregnancy!
Mine went away and I feel like I can breathe much easier too! Must have been an adjustment I needed. :)
