Hey Everyone! Please Vote!

I recently entered a contest for women who have achieved and overcame something in their lives, and I decided to write about my diagnosis of diabetes. If you can please vote for me, I may have a chance to win, which would help me afford a pump so I don`t have to do MDI`s forever! Thanks! You can find it at the link below, and you can vote once per day! Everything helps!

Hey Christine. I’m sorry that I could not vote for you because you have to be of legal age (I’m only 16) but I would like to tell you that your story is similar to mine. I was diagnosed at 14 and for the last year and a half I have struggled with the shots like you do, especially in the first few months. It does get easier. The shots will still hurt sometimes and somedays you’re still going to hate diabetes, but I know that before long you will be doing shots like a pro and everything will just seem like part of your daily routine. Are you on insulin pens or syringes? I use insulin pens and I find that it doesn’t look quite as bad if you have to take a shot in public. For the most part I just try to find a bathroom to use if I need insulin and if I need to check my sugar, I just do it in public. Sometimes people look at me weird, but it honestly doesn’t bother me too much. Anyway, I hope that you win and can get a pump (I am looking at starting one too).

Hi ChristineLynn: Yes, I voted for you! I see we can vote everyday. Why don’t you post this on the Canada Group because everyone will get a notice in their email even if they don’t visit TuD very often. Congratulations on your success so far. I really hope you get your pump soon. Cheers! Joanne

I went through it all too. Sometimes it would take me half an hour to do one little shot, and sometimes I could do it easily. I usually tried to do it quickly without thinking about it too much because as soon as I thought “I have to stick this piece of metal into my skin and it’s going to hurt” I was pretty much done for. Good luck

I get “Service Unavailable” when I try and click on it, Christine. I’ll try again later in case it’s my computer. Good luck!

I wonder, since this is a Canadian promo of which Bayer is a sponsor , if you , Zoe got the response you did ??..Kate is from Canada …(and too young to vote according to the rules) .

No, it works ok now, must have been a computer glitch. I don’t think the website would have any way of knowing what country I’m in unless I filled something out on the site!

Zoe: There is a member from the Canadian Group who doesn’t want to join Facebook in order to vote. I’m thinking that you probably didn’t go through Facebook. lol How did you do it? Thanks, Joanne

LOL. People on here really know me! I just went to the link above and there was a “Vote for this Story” thing to click.

I voted and it didn’t even ask for the FB login. Not sure what I did other than burn the hamburger I was cooking to figure out the math question! It asked name, email & phone number. It was the selection on the left for new user.

Can you pull this up every day also so we don’t forget - once someone posts in here, then we will get an email reminder.

I voted

Don’t forget to vote today!

Thought I’d bring this up today to remind everyone to vote for Christine Lynn. Who knows? You could win something too.

Let’s all vote again today!

Done young lady. I wish you the very best.
