How do you wear an insulin pump with fitted, fashionable clothing?!

I am thinking about trying Omnipod for this reason Kimberly!

I wear a Spanx bra that holds my animas pump tight against me under the armpit. I have worn form-fitting Chanel and Missoni garments and no one notices the pump at all!

Hmm! I just ordered some Spanx online but not a bra! Maybe I should try one…thanks Michele.

I sometimes wear a sports pack that Animas has (with my Paradigm) above my waist because it’s pretty tight fitting, not perfect though.

I was reluctant to get the Omnipod b/c I thought that the pod would be visible under tighter clothing. Do you find it not noticeable?

If it’s under skin-tight clothes, then yes - it’s noticeable. My tightest clothes seem to be pants during the winter and shirts during the rest of the year. So during the winter, I wore the pod on my back, stomach and arms. During the summer I plan on moving from the arms to the legs, since most of my pants are flowy and I plan on wearing a full wardrobe of fun summer dresses. 'Tis my first summer to be podding so I plan on laying down some serious cash to bet to be all girl-y again.

The word “podding” cracks me up.

EXACTLY!

Hi Betta! I wear mine on an elastic /lycra-type belt around my waist. The pump sits inside the folds of the belt, there are not zips, or velcro or anything. I normally move it to my back, on the natural curve of the lower back. It usually goes unnoticed, depending on the clothes. If not, I turn the belt so the pump is on the front, on one side of my tummy. I bought my first lycra belt from diabeteze.com, an Australian company. Then I realised they are very simple to make and I cut a few tight lycra tops and rolled them up and made several belts myself, in different colours. I have tried the bra but it doesn’t feel very comfortable for me as I’m not that ‘big’ in that department ;o) so you can notice it quiet easily. I wish they made them a bit slimmer!.

I’m not sure that’s the right link . . .

How do you bolus? Seems like a lot of work to get to your pump?

You would bolus with the remote. Minimed’s remote has limited functions can only do an easy bolus or suspend. Animas’s ping has more bolus capabilities but can’t set temp basals. Or you fish the pump out of your bra or waist band.

Im sorry! The website is www.diabete-ezy.com Hope you can view it now!

Not at all, you just get your pump out from the belt, unrolling it out. If you go to the website above you’ll see the pictures and you’ll get a better idea.

Just started a new discussion!

I use the bra method as well. I just stick it in one of the cups....but I am also well endowed in that department. I just switched from a thin cup to a lightly padded bra to hide the outline.
