Through middle providers (like Liberty Medical, I have no is why this is necessary) they bill insurance $60-$70 per pod. So expect something like $70*0.3*10 = $210/ month. Or less if they negotiate some other reimbursement scheme.
Don’t you think it depends on what your provider charges?
Edgepark charged one price, Insulet another…
$275 * (1 - 70%) = $82.50/box
But it’s irrelevant - everything changes next year. Next year it depends on the state you live and whether the state has bought in to Obamacare. This determines the treatment of medical devices, and whether you opt for a “bronze”, “silver” or “gold” plan. The arithmetic is pretty close for us diabetics - as of this moment I think I’m for a “gold” plan but the difference from a “bronze” plan (at least so far, in Oregon) may be small.

The Omnipod rep who set things up didn't call me back as he promised, and he didn't respond to my follow up email. I have been unable to reach anyone at Omnipod itself over the phone, and I received no real receipt with the shipment. Additionally, the shipping paper that came with my Omnipod shipment only provided the address and phone number to Omnipod, So as a result, I thought I'd try to get a rough idea from people here.
I believe that only applies to certain insurance if you buy it from the government providers, not private insurance. Private insurance won't change much at all. Those change have been put on hold.
You mean group plans, I think; i.e. the health insurance an employeee gets when the employer provides health insurance. That won’t necessarily change, so long as the employer health plan provides the minimum required, but for diabetics who have individual insurance everything changes.

My last order of old pods directly from insulet was $41.50/pod. That's with an inexplicable increase of $3/pod from my three previous orders. Assuming you're charged somewhere around the same price, that would be about $125 per month for the 30% coinsurance.
I haven't seen the bill for my first order of the new pods yet. As their manufacturing costs of the new pods are lower, they've said in the past that the price will remain the same. I won't know for sure until I see the bill though.
My new pod bill was exactly the same as the old pod one ($275/box), this is from Byram Healthcare.
I am on Medicare, but the Advantage level which offers more coverage so I can only speak to that issue. I was sent to Edgepark for my system (all new to me) and I was charged $100 for PDM and $60 a month under Part B at a 20% copay. Then Edgepark cancelled my eligibility and it went back to my initial transaction. I flipped out and called Insulet (who said that my insurance was covering it using Edgepark) and they said to contact my insurance and sent me 3 pods to tide me over. My insurance found that I could use my Diabetic supplies company (no copay) and they don't charge me a copay for Pods either!! Edgepark was chastised as it appears they never submitted a claim and collected fees, sending equipment never authorized. naughty, naughty Edgepark.
