does anyone have experience / comparison with / of HUMALOG vs APIDRA ?
I switched my basal insulin from LANTUS to LEVEMIR and am quite happy with the results.
I am now thinking of testing the APIDRA as I am facing some problems with HUMALOG. Sometimes it works so quick ; and othertimes it doesnt work at all! I am using it since many years now and just found out about APIDRA.
I switched from Humalog to Apidra four years ago with no problems. I feel like it peaks faster in my system and I know it’s gone in about 3 and a half hours.
Dear Melissa; great & thanks for the comment & links. I will try it . I am always facing problems with HUmalog that sometimes it peaks too late … Apidra sounds promising! Are you also injecting Levemir ? I was on Lantus before and just switched to Levemir … seems much better …
I’ve used an insulin pump since 2000, so the last long-acting insulin I used was actually NPH. Levemir came to market in the USA in 2006 and Lantus in 2003, so I’ve never used either of them. With a pump, you use short-acting insulins only.
I was diagnosed in 1990, so I used Humulin R (developed in the '80s) first, then Humalog (1996), then Apidra (2004).
