I Just THOUGHT I Had It Figured Out

Week five of pumping and, well, I’ve gotten a little “pump-cocky.” My numbers have been looking terrific; my A1C has dropped from 8.3 to 6.7 and I was pumping only a third of the time. Morning blood sugars: perfection. Exercising: getting a temporary basal down. Car Counting: getting better all the time. Extreme highs: 1 (thank you, infusion set). Extreme lows: none – until yesterday.

The dog days of summer have become the dog days of back-to-school, and it would appear that everything will now change. I’ve had more lows in the past 2 days than I have in the last 5 weeks. I can think of only one thing: PANIC!
