Well, the results are in! Why did I wait so long to go on a pump? What was I thinking? Oh…can you feel my excitement, can you read the intensity of my drama…ohhhhh lalaaaaaaaaaaaa…
Drum roll please…

Yipee…Yahooooooooo…oh ya…oh ya…I’m doin’ the suga’ dance…I’m doin’ the suga’ dance…with my ping on…pumpin’…oh…ya…!
Wow. Lot’s of hard work, patience, friends on-line and frequent, frequent testing.
What’s worked for me? I test first thing in the am, before and after every meal and before I go to bed. Approximately 7 times a day. I also count my carbohydrates and keep a food diary. VERY IMPORTANT. I calculate and write down everything that enters my mouth. There’s no trick, no pill, no secret hand shake. Really guys, I wrote down everything and did the math…well…actually…my good friend…Senor Animas Ping did the math for me…thank God and I even down loaded the Calorie King food diary into my meter. Big Time Saver. Once I learned the technology…you know…watch the videos, read the manuals and actually do the patient workbook that the company sends you…I was pingin’ baby and I haven’t looked back! If I continue to stay in the 6-8 range, who knows, perhaps I’ll have both of my kidneys and legs unlike my parents and grandparents. Wow…life has gotten so much easier…less scarier.
I’ve gone from an average A1C of 14 to 17 …managed with insulin shots…to an A1C of 6.78 on Pump Therapy. I wake up in the morning with a FBS of 90…wow…simply Amazing!
At today’s Dr’s visit I submitted forms for the Dexcom 7 Continuous Blood Glucose Meter. The next step in my fight to stay alive, stay healthy and stay positive!
Walkin’ on Sunshine…
Peace…
