http://www.flickr.com/photos/52348156@N04/5002067877/in/photostream/ i saw this tattoo while i m searching on the google and i like that! whose tattoo it is i don’t know but, i love it. what do you think ??

Hi! I am interested in getting a medic alert tatt on my wrist and I’m happy I saw your post. I just was released from the hospital after passing out, so now I am sure this will be my next tattoo. I wasn’t wearing my medic alert at the time and actually have it on my keychain because it clashes with my other jewelery. A tattoo is a great alternative idea, but I was hesitant to get it in a place so visible. Although, that’s kind of the point, lol. I am going to start designing different versions of the possible tatts and would love some input on the best ones. I will post them soon… Thanx!

Left wrist I’m an EMT. Placement is very important you want medical staff to find the tattoo. The left arm is the arm closest to the EMT riding in the back with you.

wow those are great ideas. I am happy to know that other people are getting Alert Tattoos, I know I’m not alone on this. I am Cherokee and my tribal name is Camama which means “Butterfly” so I loved the black ribbon turned into butterflies. Thanks again for sharing that link.

This thread is pretty old, but I wanted to post a picture of my upcoming medical tattoo. It's a pretty rough sketch and the tattoo artist is drawing up several ideas for me and tweaking it. I'm going next Monday to get it done and I'm sooo excited!! I will post a picture when it's finished. :]

Good luck - have fun :)

Looks great!!

I'm (finally) going for my medi-alert(ish) tattoo this Wed (March 28th) and can't wait :)

i just saw a post on my Facebook about diabetics getting tattoos of this sort. i am all for this. i have 4 already and have been thinking of doing this, just didn't know people were actually getting them. and thank you for saying left wrist is closer to the emergency personnel. that is where i was going to put mine.

hiya lyssmarie,
your work is lovely - i recently got my medi-alert tattoo (i like you, didn't realize that people did that sort of thing -until i joined here- and was pretty well covered already!)...anyways, i didn't get it on my left wrist...i totally understand the reasons why people do that, but i would certainly hope that someone sees it before the medical personnel arrive and most certainly before they load me in an ambulance...i opted for my right wrist bc that is my handedness and i felt more confident it would be seen that way...good luck with whatever you do, look forward to the posting!

hi bec
thank you, iv put much thought into the ink iv gotten.
its kind crazy. iv always been told "diabetics can't get tattoos". apparently they didn't know what they were talking about lol. i have the purple ribbon on my right already, if not i would've put it there. yes i agree with hopefully someone seeing it before your taken away. i always have someone with me who know my medical conditions. unless I'm alone of course.
thank you i will definitely post what i have done.

I love this!..I’m such a hello kitty freak as it is but this totally gave me ideas

I LOVE this. Is that Latin?
