Insulin + Banting Google Doodle! World Diabetes Day 2016!

I was very happy to be up in the middle of the night and to discover that the Google Doodle for today- World Diabetes Day 2016 - celebrates the birthday of Frederick Banting and shows a (old-timey) vial of insulin. Excellent!

I remember we (meaning the tudiabetes community) campaigned for a Google Doodle in 2009… and 2012… and probably every other year in between too. I am so happy this came together for 2016! Thanks to all here who made this possible!

Very exciting to see. I remember the campaign years ago to have WDD recognized via a google doodle. We were so disappointed when it didn’t come through. I guess it takes a few years!!:hearts:
