Thanks to Nel Peach for inviting me here.
I know Nel through the Canadian Diabetes Association, in which we both play many volunteer roles. I am on the CDA’s National Advocacy Committee and Young Adults Advocacy Team. These advocacy efforts are both challenging and rewarding as we work to heighten the awareness of diabetes among governments, healthcare systems and the public.
Aside from being an advocate and volunteer, I am a freelance journalist, photographer, entrepreneur, runner, cyclist, and a bit of a wanderer. I like sharing ideas, drinking wine, relaxing with friends, supporting the arts, learning from others, and can often be found sitting in a cafe with my computer. I love people. I’m really bad at math. I’m a unique combination of normal and quirky. More of me and my work can be found on http://www.careytarr.com. I have type 1 diabetes, and I look forward to meeting the tudiabetes community.
