…like feeling you get when you wake up at 1:00AM because your blood sugar is 49?
If there is then please let me know. I’ll be at the fridge trying not to overtreat…
(wow does it ever feel like crap right now)

This happened to me the night before last, woke up, did a blood test, Hypo 2.2. Ate 2 bananas, I was starving, and I mean starving, what is that ? I took some cereal biscuts to bed and promtly fell asleep. Next morning I was still a biit low 60, but I thought I’d be high after the night before.
well…after a glass of juice and a cinnamon roll (approx 45g carb) i went back to bed feeling like i overtreated a bit. i was 90 before i slept again.
i was wrong. woke up 5:00am at 44. mother of pearl! gonna have some more juice and a little cereal i guess. hooray for exercise after work and lantus deciding to go into overdrive.
now i’m asking myself if i took more lantus than i thought. after 18 years youd think i could read the numbers on a syringe. who knows?..i’m fairly sure i took my normal dose, my metabolism must be working extra hard tonight.
cereal gooooooood. overtreat baaaaaad. thats why i force myself to type when i’m low so i don’t attack every carb in the kitchen.
I go through this at least 3-4 times a week. My night stand is stocked with juice boxes. I have juice boxes everywhere, did I mention I now hate juice? It always makes for a good day when you have to treat before you get up. And my favorite part, the sweats…love that drenched, I just ran 10 miles feeling at 4 am.
You are right…the worst feeling is waking up low. I use to have a cat who would wake me up before I went too low. I sure miss that guy. He was diabetic too. I always overtreat my lows…because unless I get my husband up to get me something, I just start to eat whatever I see!!!
