So I go to bed at 11:00PM with a BG of 119. Not too bad considering my dinner. But anyhow I get woken up at 1:56AM with an alarm that sounds like a fire station bell. I check my CGMS and it says 55. I didnt feel funny so I got up to see if it was way off kilter. I stood up to get my testing supplies, and BOOM…It hit me. I got all kinds of “WOOOO” I tested and the meter said 41. I dranke a whole real coke and another 26g of carb from a breakfast cereal bar. That was 66g of carb. I gave no bolus what so ever. I went back to bed. You know what my BG was this morning? A whopping 96. According to my CGMS, even with all that carb intake i never peaked over 100 at any point after that. Im sure glad I had it with me last night…
Do you ever get the feeling that every now and again The D says, “oh, no. I’m in charge here.” What a night. Ninety-two grams of carbs and never over a hundred? Too bad we can’t make that happen when confronted with a pan of warm brownies.
What was you IOB when you went to bed? Good thing the CGMS alarm wakes you up!
scary! glad you’re okay…
Glad you made it through!
I get the feeling D is in charge a lot as of late. Mmmm warm brownies and cool whip!!!
IOB when I went to bed was 5.6U and I had give a dual wave bolus to cover a fatty dinner. Other than that all was normal that I can tell.
Thank you all for your well wishes! I actually feel great this morning oddly enough!
Glad you feeling better. Must be the magic carbs. I’m with you on the brownies. man i miss brownies.
Glad the alarm woke you up to treat the low.
I have some days where I feel like I’m overtreating a low but, my bg’s turn out just right. Then, my mind starts trying to figure out things. Exercising too much is usually my cause.
Did you at lease enjoy your real coke???
