Reuse all the time no infection.
No
You can change them?.. (no)
Q. Have you ever had an infected finger or alternate test site which was stated by your doctor to be caused by lancet re-use?
Progress Count:
Yes: 0
No: 25
Nope, never. I reuse lancets until it becomes difficult to get blood out (even though all it takes is a small twist to change lancets).
No. I only use fingers. Over 25 years reusing my lancets.
I have reconsidered, though, b/c the longer you go, the harder it is to get blood out. Dr Bernstein says he has arthritis from squeezing blood out of his fingers. I just have to figure out if I am more affraid of encouraging arthritis or more lazy.
Nope. Can't remember the last time I changed lancets.
Ever? No, NEVER! Never had an infusion or injection site infection, either. As far as infusion sites, you have to distinguish between foreign-body reactions, which do look red and a little swollen, but are not a true infection, and don't need to be treated, with true infections caused by bacteria, which DO need to be treated lest they turn into abscesses. If you take out your set, and the site is a little red, then watch it -- it will either get better on its own, or it will obviously get worse, in which case you need to see your doctor. And once you've had an infection, then you always will need to use sterile procedures for insertion and watch out for infections, because you are likely a staph carrier. -(
No.
No. I change about once every week or two.
No...Never... change lancet once a day...test at least 8 times a day.
Nope. Never. I've had diabetes 18+ years, and test ~8-10x a day. And I change my lancet about twice a year, in a good year. :)
No, but thanks, I should change my lancet. It's been a while. I do have a Nice callous on my thumb though from poking in the same spot too often.
I don't change mine very often and I have never gotten any infections in my fingers. I rotate fingers, but have never had a problem with any of them.
No but I change my lancet every morning with the ACCU-CHEK Multiclix.
Never infected and always reuse; over and over and over and............
no infections and i never change the lancet...for about 24 years now...i just wait until i get a new pricker
I have never had an infection. I change my lancets semi-occasionally.
No infections & I use the lancet for a few weeks until I think it's hard to get a sample. In 50 years I've only ever had 1 infection from shots, years & years ago.
My answer is no. And I can't remember when I last changed my lancet.
