Ugg we have lost kennedy's receiver today, somewhere between her bedroom and her first period class!! I am at work, so I am hoping I will find it on a thorough search of her bedroom when we get home.
I did call support and they said as a new customer they will replace for 199$ and if we find the old one, they will take back the replacement and refunc the entire cost.
That's much better than 600$.
I figured this was going to happen sooner or later, but I was hoping for later.
We have been through this with the pods and do have an extra controller at home for that.
I'd love to hear everyone's tips for not loosing dexie!!
We could not get the dang thing into the vera bradley case, I may have to cut the middle piece of fabric to get it in there!!

The case itself has a hook and came with a carabiner so I can hook it to my back pack or on to my belt loop if I am not wearing a belt. It comes in a bunch of nice colors and patterns, but mine is basic black. I kind of wish the receiver itself came with a GPS locator, kind of like my phone. I mean it sends out wireless signals anyway, how hard would it be to program it to signal when you lose it ? Sorry you lost the receiver, I know that would drive me crazy.
Oh, rats!! How frustrating! The receiver ought to come with insurance in case of loss! I have never lost mine, but it's deep within my pocket when I wear jeans, and otherwise in my purse. It has dropped out of my pocket on occasion, but I have always noticed so far. So I don't really know what to tell you except my condolences!
I haven't lost mine yet, knock on wood, but I have had a couple of time where I couldn't remember where I left it in the house. The extended range makes it harder to find than the system 7 which would start beeping when it was only 5 - 10 feet out of range.
Being a guy, I use the case that came with the receiver. I like it because it clips on my belt and has a loop that goes around the loop and secures it. I know it's rather ugly, but could Kennedy attach it to her purse?
I travel for business occasionally, so I have mine labeled "Diabetic Medical Device, if found please call" and then my cell number (my OmniPod PDM has the label too). I was concerned about theft if found because the G4 receiver looks so much like an MP3 player, unlike the system 7 "football".
Also try looking under the seat in the car, especially if Kennedy has a black receiver. While still on MDI, I lost a glucometer under my front seat. I searched high and low, but never found it. I only got it back when the guys at the car wash found it MONTHS later whne they were vacuuming the car.
OK that's it. I keep putting it off while thinking of more a cosmetically appealing way to do this (Label maker?), but right now I am printing out a piece of paper with "medical device" and my cell phone number on it, then pasting it to the back with a nice piece of protective packing tape. Given that about 99% of people have phones on them at all times, I can't see how someone wouldn't call and say "hey I found your thing" within 5 minutes of leaving it somewhere. Unless she is anything like my kids, then it is probably lost deep in her purse or backpack.
yes, a label is what we need! name address phone number, etc... yes the 200 was the price for the replacement g4, we are cash pay so not sure if that makes a difference... we did find it! in the bed!
I also lost my G4 of only 4 months last week. After hoping for a miracle (hoping someone would call the dex number on it) I finally called this morning and got the "one time" replacement for $199 + $5 for ground shipping. I did not elect the 3 day or overnight options. I forget what the 3 day was but the overnight would have been $28. Irks me a lot. I will put my phone number on the new one but that is no guarantee that someone will call it. Since they did not call the 800 number on back. I was at two heavily trafficked places so I assume someone thought it would be good to just hang on to it thinking they could figure out how to use it. I also will have to buy a new cover that I got from amazon as I dropped the thing many times and the cover probably saved it from those events. Since I don't wear belts, I have to put it in my pocket and when I take it out to remove something else I sometimes forget that I laid it on my leg. I suspect that it went flying out when I got out of the car and did not hear it hit the pavement. I still don't know how I missed seeing it though.
