Low Carb Food- Your FAV?

My new fav is Tofurkey. Expensive retail, but reasonable when they try to unload them after Thanksgiving....http://www.tofurky.com/

Steak.

Cream.

Bacon & eggs.

Homemade fried pork rinds!

:-)

Mmmm. Forgot that breakfast. My favorite breakfast was scrambled eggs mixed in milk gravy. Put that on top of mile high homemade biscuits. Plus either sausage or big slice of ham. Mouth is watering just thinking of that. :)

mmmm...i just looked up gravy recipes. Got biscuits in the fridge! Lunch.

You guys might want to look back at the thread title...lol

have any of you tried the cauliflower crust for pizza? It's delicious and none of my family has noticed - well they like it anyway!!

And I'm stuck with a bologna sandwich. Took bite and was like eating a ham sandwich. Opened it up and wife had left partial wrapper on one of the cheese slices. Called and asked if she was mad at me for some reason or another. Told me no, why I ask. Explained what I found and she thought it was funny. :)

I know. Somehow we got sidetracked didn't we? But some great food mentioned just the same. ;)

I never could get into cauliflower. Tried a few times but just couldn't do so. Someone told me they love cauliflower mashed potatoes.

NO ONE knows it's cauliflower! It doesn't taste like it AT ALL. ONLY your BG will not spike like pizza dough!

It means a little cooking though but it is good!

You know each time is different but some things I have just eliminated due to it just not being worth it to me. All cereals are one, maybe I will try a bowl one day again though with almond milk or just heavy cream. I have gone gluten free too for the most part. I have always loved raw veggies just plain, they taste so great and have so many health benefits too.

I wish you hadn't said that, meee! I tried every healthy cereal at my market and there were a lot! They all spiked me, especially with fruit which is how I like cereal so I gave up. But you made me realize that was before I switched from regular milk to unsweetened almond milk! Repeat after me, "it won't make any difference, it won't make any difference..lol" I also ate one (largeish) dolma yesterday when I made them for company so I kept 3 of them to see if I really could possibly eat any rice at all! In the substance abuse recovery community they call that "permissions". You give yourself permission for one little compromise and the next thing you know...

Sorry Zoe, I guess it would not be a good idea in that case. Have you tried eating cereal at night instead? I have never tried that. I really have no clue why I spike sometimes and others I don't or go hypo. I used to have pumpkin granola and blue berries with almond milk for breakfast a lot, but grains are just so difficult for me. Almond flour and hazelnut flour etc. make pancakes possible. I'm sure there is a way to make a truly low carb granola too, I will try that.

Rice is hard too although I had some last month with ready made chana masala from wholefoods and only ate half of and it didn't spike me.

Those Dolmas sound good though! I haven’t had one in ages.

I found this cereal from Nature's Path that has about 23 carbs in it. One of their flaxseed plus . They have another one that has about24 grams of carbs in it called Heritage Flakes. Granted these are 3/4cp servings. But they're very good. They're supposed to be organic but that's something that don't really come into play for me. I just grabbed them because of the carbs, sugars and price. ;) I'll have some once or twice a week for breakfast. Finally got the wife to try and dang if she didn't steal my Heritage one from me and left the Flax one for me. That's pure mean. She's left her 'have some cereal with your sugar' brands for these. She really loves them. The company does have some with higher carbs but I found these two to be the lowest in carbs and sugars. The sugars are four grams. So all and all not that bad. She likes because also she can leave sit for a bit and although they might soften a little they don't become soggy like most of the others. Now, if I can only steal my other box from her I'll be real happy but I know I stand as much a chance of that as a snowflake not melting on a hot stove. :)

I love cauliflower crust pizza!

Incredible! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cauliflower-pizza-crust/

How do you count that?

Sounds great! I see there are a lot of things I have not tried yet!
