My mom was just diagnosed with having a severe degenerative spine and over the last few weeks been in agony pain. The chiropractor she has been seeing is suggesting his treatment which is using his hands should improve her status. Meanwhile she is in tears from the pain. I can only pray she has a surgical option though she is petrified to have anything of that nature done. I have been looking on line for treatments for this kind of problem but apparently every case is different. I am heartbroken seeing her like this as my and my fathers diabetes hasn't caused her enough stress.
So sorry to hear of your moms pain. I have to say many doctors and specialist can help amazingly well when it comes t the back and therapy. Even though its different than your mom I had severe whip lash from a accident in february. going to therapy was like heaven and man I felt better after each session. they used massage, heat and electro stimulation. Do to money getting to and from therapy I had to stop going. Now I'm stuck with pain still but not as often as before therapy. I pray your mom will have some luck with this kind of therapy I hope. Keep your head up and keep on your diabetes so she can focus on herself. stress adds to the tention so be stress less:) Kimberly

Sending prayers for your mother and also you Gary. I know she means a lot to you. My mother has a degenerative disc in her back - I am guessing that is different than the actual spine. She chose not to do surgery. She does have some periods of extreme pain that she can barely move.

I'm very sorry to hear that Gary. My aunt was in the same boat for a long time, surgery averse, in a lot of pain and discomfort. We had all gone to a family reunion and she was having a lot of trouble getting around but decided to go forward with the surgery and has had a great recovery, is able to get out and walk that she'd sort of written off. It's a very hard decision but I hope they can help her. I also deal with injury claims at work (car accidents) and read reports from orthopedic surgeons all day and have seen many reports from people who had very good recoveries from surgery, despite the extremely intimidating nature of the cure. My parents are big fans of chiropractors who have helped them a lot. I hope the can help her.
Very sorry your mother is in such pain. Hope the chiropractor can alleviate the agony. I don't know if it's used for her condition, but cold laser therapy helps with many bone, joint & disk problems. It's non-invasive & assists with pain & healing. Acupuncture won't cure her, but it's wonderful for pain relief.

And that's the problem for everyone in the family ; how does one deal with this pain ?? ..the added stresses on top of your Dad's and your diabetes ...you and family are in my thoughts....prayers your way !!!!
Oh Dear! That is one problem that I am Happy I do not have yet. So many suffer from back problems. I certainly will pray for your Sweet Mom. I wish you all Well.
