I’m sure everyone has a food the just can’t stay away from no matter how hard they try!!
Mine: freshly made chocolate chip cookie dough (raw) after i make it at the bakery…by the time i get it all wraped up and put in the fridge i’ve had a little more than i should. oh how i love it!! oh how it makes me happy!! :*)
That’s too funny…been there done that. Mine: Apple Pie, Carrot Cake or most any kind of Ice Cream!! Keep them far,far away from me!! Yum! I’m not sure I could handle working at a bakery like you however!! You are brave!
I’m still trying to figure out what I can and can’t eat, but for me it’s going to be hard to give up/severely limit pasta, bread and pizza, especially since I’m a vegetarian so they are my staples.
Presently bought cookies (Peek Freans, LifeStyle , cranberry citrus oat crunch , source of fiber ( ha, ha ) 0 trans fat , 0 chol, low in sat. fat … I am telling myself , they are healthy !!! 7 grams of carb for one cookie …never have just one ; it used to be home baked cookies , till I decided not to bake anymore . Triscuits , same story as far as ingredients are concerned .Like to add my drink weakness : dry red wine .
Raw cookie dough and cake batter. I just can’t bake anymore because I can’t stop myself. I also avoid donuts because I get all Homer Simpson and want to eat a dozen in a sitting, not good for the waist line or the blood sugars!
Oh my…cheesecake (NY style) and pure good old Chocolate! I must say I “DREAM” of cheesecake and chocolate chunck brownies! I don’t eat it very often (alot of humalog is required) !!! UGH!
soft gooey choco brownies, especially if there dark choco or fudge rounds put in the fridge just cold enough to be a ice cream treat. Nice juicy greasy burgers, pizza huts stuffed crust pizza dipped in marinara sauce. Or my lime chips with lots of sweet and spicy salsa
Mine is dark chocolate (which at least is somewhat good for me) - I try to have any candy in tiny pieces (my husband loves dark chocolate too & always has some around the house) & also try to satisfy my chocolate cravings with home made dark chocolate soy milk hot chocolate (sweetened with Splenda). - I guess peanut butter plus dark chocolate is even better & I really really loved the pastries when I was in Europe a couple of years ago - but luckily I was walking so much & having so much low bs that I could actually get away with eating some.
Absolutely nothing wrong with dry wine of either color. Alcohol lowers BG, so should be taken with food. Dry red wine has significantly less carbs than beer. Distilled alcohol has no carbs–zip, nada. If you drink, test frequently, take with food & don’t overdo it because of possible hypos, not to mention how alcohol lowers inhibitions regarding in indulging in yummy treats. Of course, watch out for the mixers because they have tons of carbs unless you mix with club soda or diet sodas.
To respond about my " drink weakness " : I do not bolus for my red wine, however it does contain calories, I believe about 90 for a 4 ounce glass …and I do want to keep my girlish figure
usefulness is not totaling eliminating these things it’s learning to love new things, but still treat yourself to your faves within reason. So nothing we say is totally off limits, it’s just we have to practice moderation. Plus it shows how far we’ve gone, i’m assuming not everybody eats this everyday, it’s just nice to have a treat.
