Need suggestion on inserting the t:90 infusion set

I have switched to the t;90 infusion set for my tslim pump. I have a hard time after insert getting the infusion set released from the insertion cartridge even when I push on the smooth indention on the sides to release. I’m scared that I am going to pull out the new set or crinkle the cannula. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Mine do this too! I use my finger to hold down an edge of the tape, and pull straight back. It does seem as though you have to be a little more forceful with these than the Animas sets that I tried samples of. Also, it’s more difficult with the 9s versus the 6s.
I’ve been using them for about a month and have not had one come off or had a bent cannula doing it this way.

Tandem sent us t:90s instead of our usual Insets. We have the same problem, &;I haven’t found a workaround.

I’m much happier with the steel needles. I think the insertion devices cause trauma and are more likely to end up in kinking issues which can stop insulin delivery. I use contact detach.

Sorry, I haven’t tried the t:90 infusion sets with my tSlim. I’ve only just used the insets. It was kind of a strange experience switching for me, as I used the QuickSets with Medtronic, and always self inserted. I’ve felt with the insets kinda how you have described with the t:90’s like lifting the inserter is going to end up dislodging or removing the infusion site. Not sure if this will work with your t:90’s but for the insets, after clicking on the smooth indention and inserting it, I will kinda hold the inserter with one hand, and push down a bit on the white part of the inserter just to make sure its all securely in place, then slowly lift the inserter off. So far so good, no pulling out the site or crinkling the cannula.
