Just wanted to let people know, in case you haven't seen it already, Abbott has released a new version of CoPilot, 4.2, that supports Window 7. I just downloaded it as well as the Omnipod plug-in on my new computer and it is working just fine.
It took me awhile to figure out how to download all the data from my old computer onto the new one...but eventually I found there is a function called "add user from host" that lets you copy all the data you have synchronized with Abbott's host computer on the new PC. You will need your host ID number and password to do this. This can be found in the original email from Abbott when you created your CoPilot account. It copies all your account data from the old system to the new one.
I just loaded up CoPilot on my Win7 to see what version it was and if it had an updater built it.
I'm running 4.1 (Internal version: 4.1.2.1536) (never had a problem with Windows 7) and don't see a manual updater which would usually be under the Help menu. Do you know what the changes are in 4.2? I'll go check out the website in a bit to try and see as well.
Thanks for the update. I did not know they had a new version. Even though I never had any problems with the previous version using bootcamp on my Mac I went to the Abbott site and downloaded 4.2 last night.
When installing the new 4.2 the installer will tell you that you have to un-install the previous version, click on "Yes". The new 4. 2 will install.
CoPilot 4.2 runs great with Windows 7.
I am a Mac person however because of software like CallPilot that only runs on PCs I use Windows 7 on my Mac using bootcamp.
I use to have a separate PC, one of those fancy all-in-one computers, it came with Windows 7 installed but it was so unstable. The Gateway would reboot itself 50 times a day. I tried everything, every tip, every advise. I did clean installs.
Finally I decided to put the Windows 7 on my Mac using bootcamp.
WOW - Windows 7 not only runs completely stable without any problems it also runs way faster - go figure. By the way my 8 month old Gateway complete stop functioning, I think the monitor (which is the whole computer) went. I threw the $1400.00 POS in the trash. I will NEVER buy a non Apple computer again!
