Nutrition values for Indian/Pakistani foods

Can anyone recommend a book which lists the nutrition values for Indian and Pakistani dishes? Or, perhaps to be more specific, North Indian foods (which encompasses the cuisine we eat in our milieu).

The books and apps out there, that I am aware of, simply do not suffice. With a dozen type of lentils, rice dishes, and so on, the meagre entries I find in the books and apps I have simply don't work.

Thank you sooooooo much.

Have you tried just analyzing the recipes? You could feed them into a recipe analyzer such as the one at About and calculate the macronutrients. If you want something that has then already precomputed, it may not be that useful. My experience is that these dishes are highly individualized and can be very different depending on who makes them.

I don't know of any specific books on that cuisine,

The best advice I can offer is to test at your peak after each meal; pretty soon you will start to learn which foods to avoid and which are OK. When I was in Rajasthan I found that I could eat well if I avoided rice and limited roti to one per meal. This pic from a meal in Thailand shows my rice limit in the East, the rice on the side plate remained there after the meal:

I had to be a bit careful of butter chicken in its various guises because some cooks add a lot of sugar to the sauce, but most other savoury dishes were OK.

Similarly, be wary of the tempting treats offered post-meal. Most of those are high in sugar or flour.

Ummmm Indian Food. Sorry no help but the topic sure is making me hungry. I agree I haven't really found any truly helpful apps on "ethinic" or foreign type dishes. Even things like Mexican dishes tend to be pretty generic versions of Mexican food. Sorry hub is Mexican and there is more to Mexican food than taco's and borritos, lol. So yeah I'd love to find some kind of app or book that catered more to ethnic foods. I imagine as stated above, the best approach is just testing frequently after eating any Indian meal and kinda figuring out what are "safe" foods that wont spike you to bad. Watch out for the rice's, and also of course any potatoe type dish. Ok seriously, lol Im about to run down to the nearest Nawaab and get me some curry lamb now.
