Thank you everyone I had felt like I was alone but seeing
all your comments give me strength and hope that everything will be
ok with the baby.
Just a lot of prayers, more hardwork and fighting for the little
blessing in my belly.
Osob- I also delivered at 34.5 weeks because my water broke. Delivered a healthy 8 lb 6 oz baby girl. My BG levels had been great my entire pregnancy and had an A1c btwn 6.0-6.3 the entire time. You just never know. My babe was jaundiced and spent 3 days in the special care nursery but otherwise fine. I was actually a little relieved to deliver early because I was so big and uncomfortable already, I couldnât imagine carrying that big baby for another 4 weeks!
As Heather-E said, your doctor will help determine what is the best time for you and your baby. Trust in that and that an early delivery can turn out just fine. Best of luck!!
24 weeks today, and we just had our fetal echo for the boysâ hearts. All looks good, and theyâre growing well! I was a bit nervous about this test because of the twins + diabetes, so this is a huge relief.
Thank you Lisa,
My heart is at peace now whatever will be will be so just have to hope for the best.
I am glad ur baby was fine.I dont even feel like its heavy ppl keep asking me is it heavy?can you walk etc?But the funny thing is I can walk and feel no heavyness, only annoying thing is when the babies leg hits or gets in between my ribs so uncomfortable.lol
i took 3 pregnancy test to verify and im pregnant! i never thought i would be able to so this is a true blessing. my husband is deployed to iraq for a year so i wasnt able to tell him over the phone. only through an emailâŚnot my ideal way but i need him on board and he is just as excited! we just got married dec 11 lost his 15yr old brother dec 22 he deployed july 31 and now im pregnant. it has been an insane year but so very blessed and clearly the Lord knows i can handle itâŚwho know?! i go tomorrow to get the blood work done to make 110% sure im pregnant and heâll recommend me to a doctor who carries our insurance. prayers please while i go through this pregnancy as a diabetic and without my loving husband
a little scared
Congratulations Brea! Iâm praying for peace and strength for your entire family!
Hello all,
Currently I am a dietetic intern on my way to be a registered dietician. One of my projects is to help motherâs thinking of breastfeeding or currently breast feeding with their diets. I wanted to offer here for any mother to contact me and I can look at your diet and suggest some changes. I am a type 1 diabetic so I understand some of the struggles that diabetics face, but I am not currently a mother so I donât know all of them. If you would like me to check out your diet just let me know! thanks!
Osob, my doctors freaked out at BabyBL1âs size at the 33 week sono (6 lbs), but she was only 8 lbs 2 oz at birth. We did a c-section at 38w0d because they thought sheâd be a lot larger. Keep your chin up. Iâm sure everything is going to be FINE!
Just met a fellow tudiabetes member at my first birthing class-how cool is that?
hmm so my hba1c is currently 8âŚwhat should it be for me to get pregnant safely?
Some doctors say your A1c should be under 6. My endocrinologist wanted me to be under 6.5. My A1c was between 6.0-6.5 during my pregnancy.
hey my tudiabetes mommies⌠im breastfeeding and also formula feeding and formula is expensive but i am learning to coupon⌠so i thought i would share my tips and savings with you,⌠http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djvpdapFB38
Mothers who need to supplement can also use donated breast milk if you can find a donor. MilkSharehelps mothers find each other.
26 weeks, still no insulin resistance!
14 weeks today with a healthy baby and mama! yay!! thanks for yall continued prayers!
Hello Fellow mummies and mummies to be donât know if you heard of not but I had a c-section on the 15 th and my beautiful baby daughter came into the world.
Her name is Nura and weighed 3.06 kg.(enjoy picture)
Just finding it hard with the breastfeeding and sugar levels making being a mummy such a task.Plz would love any advice on how to stabilize my sugars so I can enjoy being a mummy. xxxx

Dear Osob â Nura is beautiful!!
My blood sugars were everywhere in the first few weeks (mostly with lots of lows). Are you having lows? Some that made me quite scared about my ability to care for a newborn alone.
Things actually stabilized by themselves when our son was about a month old. My doctor told me to eat 10-20g of carb with every breastfeeding (with NO insulin to cover the carbs). Some women have written here that they did not need the extra carbs, but I definitely did! Also I was using lower basals.
Let us know if you are struggling with lows or highs and maybe the mothers can offer more ideas! Donât give up on the breastfeeding â it can be frustrating, but things will stabilize soon! Hugs!!
OK, I just checked a discussionthat I posted here and realized that things didnât stabilize until he was about two months old. Now it feels like so long ago, but I guess it took me a while to figure out how much insulin and carbs I needed next to breastfeeding.
Congrats Osob! Sheâs beautiful
28 weeks just yesterday and like clock work the insulin resistance kicks in-gone are my low blood sugar daysâŚjust when I was starting to enjoy itâŚ
