One Sentence Story

Here’s another type of story. Rules are simple. Just add one sentence at a time of any length to the previous post to make a story. No run-ons please.

I’ll get it started with this sentence:

Once upon a time there was a woman named Crystal.

Crystal belonged to a family of traveling gypsies and she had the “gift”.

She would frequently stroll into the woods when life became overbearing, to the the area overgrown by ferns and and ivy.

In this area of peaceful tranquillity she would sit and gaze into her crystal ball.

It was here, and among the serene calmness, that she discovered her calling…she could enter the mind of animals, and see the world through their eyes!!

She felt this was a wonderful gift because she could help animals who were misunderstood by their owners.

The animals seemed to have more wisdom than the humans and were frequently confused by emotions and actions of the two legged creatures.

So this gypsy girl took up horse dealing as she travelled around the country of her birth, and soon became a much sought after princess because of her wealth.

Many men came to try to win her hand in marriage.

But, alas, they tried without getting what they wanted.

Her heart belonged to her animal friends, and there was no room for men.

In another part of the country, there lived a man, born the same day as Crystal, who was born to a family of blacksmiths and side-show magicians.

Crystal had heard of him many times, so she invited him to a wild gypsy party, after all blacksmiths and men who share your birthday are said to be lucky.

What the man didn’t know of, was the existence of a twin brother…an identical sibling!

The man, Bjorn, and his brother, Tikki tikki tembo-no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo (Perry for short), lived on opposite ends of the country.

Now Bjorn and Perry were very different people and they approached the problem of getting the princess’ hand in marriage in different ways.

(Hey!) Like that name Terrie )

Neither of them could have predicted, however, that the maneuvering of one of them would help the other marry the gypsy, Crystal.

meanwhile the gypsy was learning all she needed to know about them from her animal friends.

With this knowledge she planned to observe the men closely during the party to see which one attracted her the most.

So she got dressed up and prepared for the party.
