Hi Lois. Glad you are doing better. I have spent the last year dealing with MRSA (drug resistant staph) infection that ate a hole in my elbow. 4 surgeries, 6 months of IV antibiotics, tens of thousands of $ in medical bills, 30 days in a rehab hospital and a year later I still have a hole in my elbow. But thats ok it matches the hole in my head, LOL. So I can really appreciate your situation.
I was really blessed because I had really good wound care nurses at the rehab facility and hopefully you will too. My advice to you is while you are in rehab take part in every activity they offer when you can. Don’t be like me and stay in your room and miss out on a chance to meet people you probably would never have met if you didn’t have a booboo ouwie. You know sometimes God allows these bumps in our life to give us a chance to learn and experience wonderful things.

Hey All:
It’s ME again! I’m back in the computer lab. I like it here. I don’t want to meet a guy with a laptop. I am too old-fashioned for that. Besides I HATE the size of the keyboards. I have an ergonomic keyboard at home that is easier to type on.
Saw my assigned DR today for the first time. Nice guy. I also painted a ceramic pig(gy bank) today in OT. I mixed colors and got PURPLE (blue and red). Then I painted on pink eyes, ears and spots and wrote “FEED ME” on the side. Kind of foolish, but sort of fun nonetheless!
Nothing else new. My foot is still sore and not healing any better.

NEWS UPDATE FROM LOIS:
Last night we discovered 2-3 large blisters on the side/bottom of my RIGHT foot. Not only that, but the left foot is infected again! So bad that it literally STINKETH!!! It not only offends me, but I would bet others are offended too.
Not too much to say. I’m dizzy on percocet and feeling down; although, I did get a dorm-size refrigerator. It is PURPLE!!

Hi Pals and Palettes!! It’s me again. I am doing as OK as I can for having multiple infected toes and feet. I now have MRSA and it’s clouded my mood with depression and self-pity. I now have TWO infected feet and I don’t like it one bit. I am now frustrated beyond all imagination!!
Another huge problem has cropped up with the stupid recalled quicksets! I sent 29 back and got nothing back. I have two more days to get this done, but nobody is cooperating and nobody wants to ship to a nursing home. Not that I can even find the information on what foundation is covering the total/partial cost of the supplies. I keep calling Medtronic and getting nowhere. I could just SCREAM!!! I told them I would NOT go back on the shots as I am bruising like crazy!!!
Gee, wish I could figure what’s causing all this depression!!!
Gotta go to occupational therapy. We’re making pineapple upside down cake. Yum??

I don’t see why they’re giving you a hard time. I just called Medtronic this morning, went through 4 infusion sets saturday and 2 today and they replaced all 4 boxes right off the bat, no questions asked. They even traded Sil’s for Quick-sets due to all my problems. Ask to speak to a supervisor, that got them to listen to me really quick
