Problems with Animas Insets

I was wondering if anyone was having any problems with their Animas insets breaking. Sometimes, when I pull back the inset to get ready to insert it, it breaks. It falls apart, basically. The last night, I was changing the inset and inserted/injected it into my stomach where it basically fell apart. The white spring part broke off of the plastic bit. It hurt quite a bit...I'm sure the guy in the next apartment loved hearing my string of curse words. I was just wondering if anyone else had these problems or if I got a "bat batch."

Yes this happened to me a few months ago and I posted it on here. The white part with the needle would fall out of its blue housing and it would basically fall apart into 3 pieces. It happened with 3 boxes of my insets. I called Animas and they replaced all of them. You should give them a call to help you out.

I usually use the Inset 30s. I decided to try the insets, just to try something new. The very first one I tried fell apart just as you describe!! I chocked it up to user error, but it did result in a painful experience that I don't want to repeat ever again.

I gave up on the inset stuff, couldn't deal with the plastic contraption. I now use one that I just push in manually. Much easier.

I never had that happen, but I would definitely call Animas if I were you. At the very least they need to make a note of what lot/batch the Inset was from. And they'll probably replace it for you :)

I have never had a problem with them. I will look at each new one to see that the inserter mechanism is in place and use as usual. My trainer told me to really pay attention to the insertion method, because it was something that can easily be messed up and failures can occur. Thank you for the hears up.

Ive had this happen on 2 of my last box (I have 1 set left in it) The box of pi8nk and the box of grey 43" were fine. But yes, 2 of the blue sets, the white springy part came out of the plastic housing as I was pulling the needle out of my skin after inserting.

Haven't heard of a recall, I wonder if animas is aware? We should probably all shoot an email to customer service to let them know
