I want to hear from someone who switched to a pump first, then later got on a CGM.
I thought I would want to start my OmniPod, get used to it, and then get hooked up to a Dex...but now I'm not so sure. I know the Dex sensors stay on you longer than the Pod's, but I'm just not sure I want something else stuck on me.
So far that has been the biggest adjustment with the Pod--being more careful that it doesn't get ripped off (going through doorways, changing clothes, etc). I'm not sure I want to add another "worry" to my body.
I LIKE the idea of the Dex, and I'm sure, despite its flaws, that I would really enjoy having one. It's not really expensive for me (couple hundred), but I do worry a tiny bit about the sensor costs for each month.
Then I worry about the real estate. My pump has only a few spots that I wear it (few places around my belly and back of arms). In my mind, it's got top priority. I think I might be able to use the Dex in more spots, but again, I'm not sure.
So tell me what YOU all think, those of you who have taken the plunge before me!
