Question - please answer!

Long story short, my MiniMed died -___-

I’m home from school for the weekend, and I didn’t bring any insulin with me. Yes, dumb of me, I know - please, we can discuss my idiocy later.

To cut to the chase - is it okay to use a syringe to draw insulin from the reservoir of my insulin pump? I have other options I can explore, but I was just wondering if this was okay.

Short answer - yes.

Like Jrtpup said, yes you can. In a pinch, you can also go to WallyWorld and buy the old NPH and Regular insulins without a script - they are about $20 each.

Where are you? I think it’s trying to find someone out there who’s nearby and can maybe we can get you some insulin

When my pump blew up last summer I used the Novlog with N. The non-negotiated OTC price for the N was $68/ bottle@ Walgreens.

It’s ok but not easy as the port is rather small and tough. I suggest you call MiniMed immediately

Yes as long nothing has happened to the insulin it would be fine.

Yes,my son has done it many times.

Dumb yes, but we have all done it. Yes, you can use a syringe to draw the insulin from the reservoir. I’ve done it before. You can also go to your local WalMart and go old and get R and N over-the-counter for about $25/bottle.
