Replacement DexC and existing records

My insurance company paid for a new replacement DexC for me. My DexC was fine but getting older. It worked out great because I was able to give my old one to someone who had gone swimming with theirs.

When I switched to the new one, the software insisted that I register as a new patient. It would not allow me to use the original patient data from my old DexC. I called DexCom support and they had no fix.

I loved taking my quartley success reports to my Endo. Now there are two of me on my laptop.

I cannot compare previous records with current ones.

Any clever fixes for this?

No fix suggestions, just wanted to say you are building up kharma points! congrats, man!

No, not that I've found, and I've looked. I'm sure as they're the same type db there's a way, but I'm not a programmer.

No, unfortunately I have about six "patients" in my records. My son Jack has been wearing the Dex for two years since he got diagnosed at one year old, and he's three and change now. He's dropped it down the stairs, dunked it in water, slammed it at the pool, thrown it down slides, etc etc. I have used friends' receivers as backups, borrowed from the doctor, brought water soaked ones back from the dead, replaced two with Dexcom, anything to get by. (You should see my multiple solutions of protecting this thing against the power of a toddler.) If someone does find a solution, it would be useful.

I too have multiple instances of me in the software. My understanding from talking to Dexcom tech support is that each transmitter serial number is tracked separately and there is no way to merge the data. ;-( You might be able t merge the data if you export it and then import to another software - I've never tried. BTW, if you have OmniPod, CoPilot lets you combine your data when you get a new PDM. Mine had a nervous breakdown and had to be replaced. When I uploaded the new one, I was prompted to merge with my existing data. I think I also had the option to create a new patient, but I am not positive.

The software is RECEIVER specific. So if the old receiver is still working, use it and the new one to overlap during "sensor" restart times.
