Sense of taste

I had a bad week with a lot of low blood sugars. I am assuming my decreased sense of taste is the reason why. I have no numbness in my mouth. Has anyone ever fully recovered there sense of taste by avoiding lows?

Is there any chance that you have Covid? Loss of a sense of taste is one of the reported symptoms of Covid.

It can be very extreme with COVID-19. One of my sons-in-law had it as his only symptom.

No not a chance!

Low BG’s do not affect my sense of taste, however, certain statins, not all, alter both my sense of taste but even more markedly my sense of smell.

I thought that the lows I had was affecting my taste but I figured out what it was. I have gastroparesis and I get acid reflux. That is what I think was the problem as my taste has improved.

It can be the only symptom of covid. I had a relatively mild case, but had substantial taste/smell disorder for over 7 months!

I lost my sense of both taste and smell for weeks following a flu shot about 8 yrs ago. Scary! That did it for me. Haven’t had ANY vaccines since then; especially Covid. You live and you learn.
Happy I realized.
