Whoa, Clare! You found bounce a ball on that flat line!
Danny - you kept it between the lines. I say that’s a big accomplishment!
Onesaint - little ones are doing well! Eli turned two a few months ago and Zane is 8 months. Life has calmed enough for me to find a couple minutes to check in here once and a while hope things are well with you!
Terry - you inspire me! I am looking forward to the day that I can be within my range 80% of the time.
I posted two more lines today. I hope no one tires of my posting; it really helps keep me motivated. I also hope that it shows to the occasional visitor here what is possible. That is the biggest lesson I learned when I stumbled upon this group a few years ago.
I have sufficient experience and respect for D to realize that, for myriad legitimate reasons, not everyone can do this. I've been there! It's still important that we reach for "better" everyday, whatever form that might take.
onesaint - I've posted detailed food, insulin and exercise reports under the various subgroups. I just put up my line from yesterday under "Rollercoasters."
@terry… Nobody is tired of you posting. Super motivating!! I’ve been at Disneyland and SoCal beaches the past few days so… Tomorrow I hope to post a photo.
so what's the deal with not being able to post a pic from my ipad? I would feel completely technologically un-savvy if it weren't for the thousands of dollars of medical technology that I wear to keep me alive every day. Score one for Diabetes!
Yesterday (Wednesday)…was a decent day of Type 1. Just got home from vacation. I did a lot of walking Saturday-Tuesday, a lot… super sore! I did no exercise yesterday, but noticed my blood sugars stayed somewhat in a decent range… and today so far as well. Anyone else notice exercise that will carry over to the next few days? My eating habits were the same as always… somewhat low carb.
Danny, my basal needs will vary with my step count. I use a fitbit one which counts steps and floors. I have different basal programs for couch potato days, vs work days vs crazy work days. Have a whole different set up for hiking with lots of elevation changes. If I'm running a string of over 10k step days in a row then I can be lazy for your so before needing to step up the basal. It works in reverse as well, a lazy on my butt week will set me back for a few days after even if I get back to my normal step totals. On the same idea, I can stop a post meal rise by walking the stairs. Don't need to get the miles in just vertical change. At work I can do 15 floors if I need to before coming down and starting over.
@Danny - I have noticed when I exercised daily and then miss a day, it's as if there's kind of grace period for decent BGs. It doesn't persist for more than a day for me.
You're between the lines! Good work.
@hobbit - Yeah, vertical changes, whether stairs or a trail are very condensed exercise routines. The only time my BG rises when I exercise is if I'm over 200.
@nel - Is the tylenol disturbing your actual BGs, the CGM line, or both?
Not having much luck posting a line. But wanted you to know that what I see here is making a difference in my numbers. Can't get there all the time but for the last week dexter says I've been running an BG average of 99 with 5% high, 1% low, 94 in target range of 70-130 with an SD of 18%. Doing the happy dance!!
I'm pumping U-50 novolog, via a tslim, with comfort short slant sets. My U100 equivalent TDD is around 10units. Have my basal rates dialed in and will micromanage them when I see a trend repeat more than 2 times in a time period especially over night. Do not like to snack/stack IOB from meal to meal so meal times at approximately 7, 12, 6. Enough time for things to clear before the next go round. Tend to do 30,40, 30 carbs over the three meals so only around 100 for the day.
Have been observant of types of carbs I can do when, and avoid any that Dexter shows me will spike my numbers.
I also will use temp rates to help with high fat, high protein meals when I see I'm hanging and not dropping back.
Also if my guesstimate is off Will add in an additional 5 gm every 30 minutes until my trend goes flat. If I over shoot I'll drop my basal down to compensate.
What /how do you copy and paste your lines from the dex program. I can't seem to figure it out am using chrome as browser. Not sure if that is the issue.
