Sharing some good news!

Hi everyone,

Wanted to share a bit of good news. Some of you know, I am new to Diabetes, struggling to get my numbers down and working really hard at controlling this devil in my pancreas :) with random AM spikes etc etc

Anyhow, took charge and got myself an appt with a specialist today (did not even tell my gp). This guy today is really awesome, I REALLY liked him. Talked to me for 1.5 hrs, explained the sensitivity to ups and downs, was honest about not knowing why I am throwing up and the ridiculous all the time leg issues BUT.. He is doing all sorts of blood work in the am to ck for T1 antibodies, liver and pancreas enzymes, yada yada etc. He thinks LADA but we shall see.

OK THE GOOD PART: while I am still dealing with weird vomiting and leg cramps and some vision stuff, I have managed to drop my A1c from, get ready, 10.8 in May to, yep 6.6 today!!!! HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!! Who rocks? THIS CHIC!!! WAAAHHHOOOOO!!!!!

After 6 months of hell, feeling like my life is spinning out of control, scared, freaked out, crying in the shower, thinking I should drive off a bridge, stopping checking my numbers out of frustration, denial and anger, today, I felt like I have not won the war but DAMN I won this battle:)

I feel so renewed. I have been able to make a difference in my own health. Priceless.

Office was great, very state of the art and friendly, wow. Fact is, I know I have a long road ahead of me but today, I feel like I just went from walking the road to riding in a Taxi with AC. Thanks for all the support and info here. It has been crucial to keeping me sane:)

Way to go! Glad you're on the right road and what a great A1C!

Doing the happy dance with ya, kiddo! Good job, keep your "Taxi" on the smooth road as much as possible, and don't get discouraged if he veers off occasionally. :)
