What Android smartwatches work with Dexcom?
I use a bluejay gts. Pretty much all it does is dexcom but I like it
That’s all I’m looking for. I don’t need all the other smartwatch features.
I’m using a Ticwatch E3 primarily for a Dexcom display. While Dexcom had its own watch face, I opted to install XDrip on my phone and watch and use it’s complications (let’s you add the bg and trend/delta to other watch faces) for my daily use
Dos anyone have anything that works on a Garmin watch when you are out of cellphone range?
I use a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. There’s another thread here about connecting the Dexcom to it as a watch face complication that can be added to any watch face that allows you to customize.
That’s the one for you then. Battery lasts about 3 days, no other nonsense, no other apps to coordinate, just a miniature dexcom receiver on your wrist
That’s why I got a FitBit Versa 2. It can support widgets/apps, but all I wanted was to be bl to see my BG on my watch face. There’s a free Watchface called Glance that pulls from your Dexcom Share feed. Very handy.
I bought a Samsung 5 Pro, and I had purchased it partially because it supported Dexcom, in addition to being a great watch, but then I was unable to get it working…
Anyway, with a few hacks, I’ve been happily using my watch complications, something that the normal Dexcom did not provide:
I have a nicer watch face on this now, called Portions, but here are some older examples:
The nice thing about the bluejay is it’s a completely independent dex receiver. No connectivity needed, no phone uploading to the cloud etc. it just pulls the dexcom transmitter signal directly out of the air
I also use versa fitbit with Glance. So I get bg number and trend data (from xDrip, not share). Also shows delta of BG since previous value and how long ago it was read.
Can set it to vibrate to alert for high or low values.
Very cool! Thanks
tl;dr: With my Galaxy Watch 4, I use Tiles and Wearable Widgets to have a full screen display of the XDrip+ phone widget one screen away from the watch face.
Details:
The Samsung Galaxy Watches (mine is a 4). have a feature call Tiles. Turning the bezel, or using a screen gesture, one can scroll through a list screens which have a specified app running. I have a app called Wearable Widgets on both my phone and watch. On my phone, I open the XDrip+ widget in Wearable Widgets. When I open the app on my watch I see the widget. I assign WW to the tile right next to my watch face. Turning the bezel one click, I can see my bG, trend and a graph. On the phone, the XDrip+ widget settings allow you to change the size of the numbers. I made it small enough to avoid obscuring the graph and it plenty big enough to read.
Dexcom does have a watch face, but other than showing bG data, it’s pretty basic. I didn’t want to have to be tied to a specific watch face. Using complications, you can add features to a watch face. I made a meager effort to do that, but Tiles was much easier.
I have had the Galaxy Classic 46 mm watch for a number of years now, and have used others watch faces, and designed my own. The data comes from xDrip+ rather than dexcom. When I had a fitbit I had found that I needed to maintain a wifi connection to use follow to get my BG. That doesn’t work when out hiking. But there are a large number of free watch faces with various features available for downloading from WatchMaker, for tizen or wear OS (the newer Galaxy watches). Here are some examples of my watch faces, where taping the watch face just above 6 oclock opens a second screen with more detailed information. Some I have alread uploaded to WatchMaker.
At one time, I was making watch faces with WatchMaker! It was mostly for myself, I may have “published” one, I don’t recall. Displaying bG was just starting to become a thing about the time I stopped. I haven’t for a while, but may get back to it.
If you like to tinker, I recommend it.
Cheers!
