I knew my G5 system was on the way but I couldn’t make my G4 transmitter last until it came so I started a new one. Now my G5 is here and am wondering if I can switch transmitters without starting a new sensor? Has anybody ever done this before? I know we aren’t supposed to but don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I can start a new sensor but have only had this one on for four days.
You’ll need to pair your new G5 transmitter number with your receiver. That can only be done after you stop a sensor and before you start a sensor. That, of course, will necessitate a 2-hour blackout period. But you could keep the same sensor if you did that.
yep I did it as soon as I received my G5. Popped my G4 transmitter off my current sensor and popped the G5 on the sensor and it worked flawlessly after the 2 hour warm up mentioned by @Terry4
Thanks. I’ll be jumping right on that.
No reason why not. I was going to do it when mine came but I was near enough the end of a session that I decided to just swap in a new sensor.
This is good to know.
i just waited for my old sensor session to wear out and then treated myself to a very long bubble bath w/out worrying that my sensor would get all screwed up (??? ; loss of direction arrow, etc.) then i put on a new sensor and matched up the new transmitter # to the new receiver. flawless.
the one thing that i have noticed, besides how sensitive and more accurate the new G5 is compared to the G4, is that any time i re-calibrate it, i lose my direction arrow for about 10 minutes. but it does recuperate and come back on. no worries.
