hi just anted to find friends to talk to dealing with things
Hi and welcome,
this is a great site that has many answers. I recommend reading past posts for information and of course posting your questions as a topic if there is nothing similar.
We are a community of people touched by diabetes. We have that in common and that is at the core of what makes us friends and family. We share something in common that is unique among us. A good way of connected with us is to tell us your diabetes story. If you read through you will find hundreds of stories, we even have a special category called share your stories. Sharing your story and reading other stories brings you into our circle and help you find friends and people you can talk with.
Welcome, @T1D_Thoughts! Feel free to join any conversation or start one of your own. You can also drop in on chat anytime. We’re glad you’re here!
the chat room is at the bottom of the home page
and absolutely join any conversations you find interesting, or join us Wednesday nights for live chats, etc. We’d love to hear your story! How long have you had type1? I’ve had it 49 years.
Your post makes me smile!!
Welcome! Ask away! And friends you have already! There are so many wonderful people in this community. I love that regardless of diabetes type, duration or circumstance, we all learn, grow and support each other through our unique but shared journeys.
We are so happy to have you here! I’ve lived with T1 for 19 years and was diagnosed at 19. I’ve used several pumps over the years: Medtronic, T slim and Omnipod (was my favorite, 10 years!). I have not used a pump in almost a year and currently use Tresiba and Afrezza. Down to one injection per day! It’s almost a holiday miracle!
The people here will make you smile!
Welcome!
I won’t repeat what everybody else has said, but you’ve absolutely, positively come to the right place. Welcome to the family!
Welcome! I echo what everyone else has said. I’ve had Type 1 diabetes for 25 years. Ask away any questions you have.
I’ve had diabetes for ten years . Over doing diabetes and how much effort is there such thing as doing diabetes too much
Potentially yes, especially if it is adding unnecessary stress for you.
But for me, more information and attention to keeping good control is mostly always a good thing. I try not to be too obsessive, we all have to live a little too!
Yes, if you’re not getting a benefit from the time and effort spent.
This is a subjective question that only the person with diabetes can answer. I spend a fair amount of time looking at my data and charts. This activity informs my tactics and helps me steer my blood glucose to some extent. It’s a dynamic game. Close management produces, for me, substantial quality of life benefits.
I will try that not over doing
I couldn’t help nodding my head as I was reading your last message:-) So true!
Hm… maybe we need a special support group to find ways to ‘avoid overdoing’ diabetes management – Ways to balance life and diabetes! Though… maybe THAT itself is overdoing it…
I’m pretty sure my wife would join your new group in an effort to curtail me from overdoing it Her perception of me overdoing it and my perception of me overdoing it are not the same, apparently.
My wife would probably join too for the same reason…
