The Awesomeness of Fiber :)

I have to take a regular fiber supplement now, three times a day. My dietary changes have made me sort of constipated, and irregular, and injured my colon. Hesitantly, I went and got the fiber supplement (at first, Benefiber, and now, Metamucil)… I really didn’t want to take it, I told myself, it would be like admitting I’m an old fart. sigh Life happens, doesn’t it? I do want to feel better…

While things on that front are mildly better, I have to say... Taking Metamucil with my meals, 3 x a day, has greatly increased my satiety feelings. I now don't eat as much as I used to (even though I was already not eating a heck of a lot), and I am fuller for much, much longer. I get the sugar free kind, and there's even a kind you can mix in foods like yogurt, or soup. It only has about 3-5 grams of carb of pure fiber, depending on the brand you get. Honestly, someone ought to tell a person who has dietary lifestyle changes (which usually cause constipation) to do one of those powder fiber supplements... You don't have to fight with willpower if you're FULL. lol

Hi Lizmari,
I’m using these kind of fibers already for years now and they also lower your postprandial bloodglucose when you take them at mealtime
(preferably half an hour before you take your meal).
