Three Years Today

Today, I will have had diabetes for three years.

Some people ask if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I tell them both. Because of my disease, I take much better care of my body and stay active and healthy. It also helped me realize what I want to do with my life.

I remember right before going to the doctor’s, I was eating lunch at home- I had slept in late and it was the day after Easter- and I didn’t know whether or not I should have a piece of this delicious chocolate cake that my mother made. I didn’t, but I did regret not having one last bite while I was ignorant. Oh well…

At the mark of 3 years, I am proud of how well-managed my disease is and that I am living a life that is close to normal. And I have to admit that I kind of wear my insulin pump with pride.

Just thought I’d share with you guys!

Grats on making it 3. Good luck on the many more ahead of you!

Congrats! I am so glad you are doing well. Be proud of who you are!

Happy D-anniversary! Yes, celebrate
