Tubeguard: Anyone using it?

Anyone heard of the Tubeguard? I just learned about it today. It’s supposed to be a nice little device to help avoid potential pump tube snaps:

From my understanding, you need to wrap the tube around the plastic thing. I am not very good about tucking the tube into my pants, I think that I would have even less patience for this. And somehow it looks to me like it would increase the probability of pulling out the site by increasing the tension on the tube. Perhaps I don’t get how it works.

If anyone tries it, let us know!!

from what I found online Click here, they seem to be pretty “cheap” compared to my time of countless site changes.

Does anyone know if they are reusable? or is it near $10 every site change?

I’d buy it if it was just $10 for a reusable item

No clue. If you find out, please let us know.

Hey, I just got through checking this out. I’m gonna get one on payday. I’m bad about not tucking the excess in my waist band. I wear a lot of Hawaian shirts–you know the sort of shirts you don’t have to tuck the tail in–but I’ve still managed to rip a couple of infusion sets out, because of the excess tubing hanging out. Looks like a good idea to me, so I’m gonna give it a shot. I’m always up for finding easier and better ways of doing things.

On Manny’s link it say they come 20 to a box, but I dont see a price.

In nearly 20 years of pumping I’ve never had a tube snap or needed some type of guard. If they come in a box of 20 and are 10 bucks a pop, well I’d rather just buy a new set should I accidently pull one out - it’d be a lot cheaper!

Sounds like a new brand of condom.

Just sayin’!

I don’t want to clip one more thing to me.

LOL…

Hi Y’All:

I think this would e a good idea for me. I’m forever yanking on my tube and pulling it out!! I wonder if it’s only $10 per BOX?! I’ve got the site bookmarked for when I get paid next.

ordered it today. Will let you know how it works!

lol

Not too much into gadgets …I put a piece of tape about 2 inches away from infusion set to keep all in place , the rest of tubing tucked into jeans , slacks…and thank you Manny for sharing

Hah! Yes, guarding your tube IS important…

I bought one of these a while ago. I thought it would be good for keeping my tubing from getting caught on stuff. It was, but the downside is that it does “bite” at your waist if you clip it to the waistband of your pants (though not too badly). It’s also more useful if you have a big length of tubing between where you put your pump and your site. I use the 23" tubing with most of my sites and I kept finding that it did wind up tugging unexpectedly at my sites if I took my pump out of my pocket without unclipping the tubing first. It was hard to find somewhere that didn’t want a ridiculous amount for shipping one (like $10 for a teeny two-inch plastic bag with a little 1 1/2" round plastic thing inside). Here’s where I bought mine:

I’m wearing one right now, I did order it. I love it!

They are a 1 time purchase. They can be reused over and over again. The pricing is a per tubeguard price. Since they are reusable, there is no need to purchase 20 of them as an end user. We sell them at the link mentioned above. Let me know if you have any questions. Manny - If you want me to, I can send you one to try out and write a review about. Let me know via email
