TuDiabetes has helped me/ What TuDiabetes means to me

At the end of April, I’m going to be giving a talk on the role of online communities in diabetes management. The talk is aimed at computer geeks, but at a social rather than a medical level.

While I have my own impressions of what makes TuDiabetes a unique, vibrant, and helpful community, I’d like to hear other people’s viewpoints and testimonials.

Not only will this help me put together a view of TuD as part of my presentation, but I can also see this information used for public relations and press releases to help bring attention to our community.

Tu diabetes has helped me stop feeling like an outsider.
I am the only one in my family with this illness and not many of my social friends have it.
I was feeling like there wasn’t anyone that can relate to the issues of having low or high sugar.
The constant checking my blood and all of those extra perks that we diabetics can’t stand.

This community is just like me, a diabetic. I not only share and express myself I listen to others and don’t feel alone anymore.
Who cares if we are all hundreds of miles away, we connect on this site and the bond and friendship is great.
I eat healthier now as well, there are great recipes too:)

Hi Tmana, thank you for doing this,

Good luck on the presentation. I will be working on the banner today.

One week ago I joined the tudiabetes community
This week I realized that there really ARE other people that deal with the same things I do 24x7
This week I had conversations with other people that have Type 1 diabetes for the first time as far as I can remember
This week I can put a name and face to the other diabetic people out there that used to be just statistics in my brochures
I have had Type 1 diabetes for over 17 years
