Warranty

Has anyone been able to confirm if they are going to charge to "renew" warranties that are out? I am up June 16..and pretty sure they wont have my new PDM to me by then. Again I think its all a scam to just try to get more money out of people in my situation. They HAVE PDMS in inventory, just wont ship them , only to the highest bidders (new users)

If your OmniPod warranty has expired there is no reason to worry. We will reach out to you to start the process of renewal. If you wish to renew your warranty now and avoid possible delays later, you may also contact our Reimbursement Team at 800-591-3455 (Option 2).

I called because I thought my warranty is expiring this August. The customer service person checked and let me know my warranty is actually expiring August 2014, so I never got to find out what they are doing about expired warranties.

Sorry...

I think this is yet another thing they are trying to hide...and stick people with

i recieved a letter a year after my warranty expired telling me I had to renew it.

My warranty is exp. They didn't inform me of this until I called and asked about the new pdm's. They told me it had been expired for awhile now.
My understanding is they contact your dr. to make sure you still meet the criteria for getting the omnipod and if the dr. ok's it, then they take that to the insurance company and depending on your deductible and your out of pocket costs they will give you a price to renew the warranty. I do believe if your warranty is expired you will not get the new pdm and pods unless your warranty gets renewed.
That is my understanding.
Hope this helps!!

Shouldn't your insurance cover it anyway? If so, why worry. Plus I don't think Insulet has said anything to the same result as what you believe. That's just speculation by other users who are angry.

Problem for me is...this PDM didn't come from current insurance. Current insurance doesn't have a deal with Insulet..making me go through a distributor where I am subject to the $1000 deductible...so yeah this PDM will cost me $1000 if they keep dragging their feet.. (Gee wonder whats gonna happen)

Confirmed that once warranty is up, you have to go back through your insurance or pay out of pocket for a new PDM. As I said above..if I try to get a new PDM through insurance I have a $1000 deductible

Convinced now this is all a scam to get us to pay for new PDMS

My insurance may be ending at the end of June so I just went ahead and ordered another old system. They have assured me that when the new PDMs come out (to the current customers) I will still be upgraded at no charge. If letting your warranty expire is such a big deal then just have them send you the old system and upgrade it at their cost whenever they decide we're allowed to use the new one. (My warranty's been us since February so I was doing a new deal either way!)

I tried asking them to do that yesterday..send me a new "old" system, which would extend the warranty..and they wouldn't do that
