Since the day I got my pump I have worn it with no cover or clip in the side of my bra (I wear my dexcom CGM in the other side of my bra). Where do you wear your pump? Do you use a sock or cover or the clip? I have recently began to worry about wearing it in my bra with all of the evidence of breast cancer linked to putting your cell phone in your bra....do you think this would be a risk with the pump? By the way, I had a complete stranger a few weeks ago see me put my pump in my bra and proceed to run up to me and tell me my cell phone was going to cause breast cancer only to feel pretty silly when I told her what it was. Gotta love life with diabetes!
I wear mine all the time usually stuffed in my bra, or clipped in the middle of my bra. My theory is with all the crap in the foods we eat today, I am more likely to develop cancer from that than I am my cell phone and or maybe pump. I think with anything there are multiple things to consider with cancer, and one of the biggest simply being your own personal risk factors. I sometimes wear mine clipped to my jeans pockets or the waist of my jeans, but I'd say 90% of the time it's in my bra or clipped to my bra. I like the clip a lot.
I usually wear my pump clipped to my pocket with its silicone skin on. A few months ago the clip broke and I have been too lazy to call and order a new one, so I've been wearing it in my pocket.
When I'm wearing pants with no pockets (pretty much only pyjamas an workout clothes), I tuck it under my waistband. This has been really annoying as the pump falls out easily, but last night I discovered that if I put the silicone skin on, it grips much better and the pump didn't fall out once. I wear the pump in my bra sometimes at home, but I think it makes me look "lumpy" so I never do at work (plus I am too self-conscious to reach into my bra to retrieve it in public).
I need to order a new screen protector and Skin Tac from Animas now, so I'm going to call this week to order that as well as a new clip.
Do you put it in a sock or anything before you put it in your bra to protect it from lotion/sweat/etc? I had to get a new pump a few months back because one of my buttons got stuck and I think this was a factor.
same here. my pump is almost always stuffed in or clipped to the side of my bra. I Like it there. Never thought about cancer and I have been pumping 10 years. I think I will be ok.
God Bless
I put it in a little baby sock and pin it in on hot humid days or when I am doing hard exercise. I had a pump drop out with the dreaded "button error" alarm on a hot July day, when I was outside at a church picnic. That taught me not to trust too much sweat on the MM pumps.
God bless,
Brunetta
No i dont put mine in a sock or anything, but um lol I'm not the overly athletic go workout type. If I were going to go work on it would be clipped to my work out pants.
