What to do about the Dawn Phenomenon

At this point the only high numbers I see are in the morning upon waking. 150 is about the highest. I take the last round of meds at dinner. Often times BG is below 100 at bed time.

It would help us to respond to you if you provide further detail. Do you take insulin? If so, what doses, insulin formulation, and timing. If not, what meds do you take and when? What is you usual meal timing, type of foods, and amounts? Any exercise patterns we should know? If so, what is the intensity and duration of your exercise?

A lot of times I am at work nights and on my feet before bed. Those days definitely below 100 at bed time.

I take metformin twice a day and Glipizide in the morning. A few other meds for bp and cholesterol.

It took me a lot of experiment and errors, but I finally found that raw apple cider vinegar over the course of the afternoon and evening, plus my Magical Thinking 3 gulps of red wine right before bed did the trick…Oh—I’m T2 not on meds yet for a decade…Both suggestions first came from columns by David Mendosa, a long respected Diabetes Advocate…

Experiment and, as always—Test a lot and make notes that you can analyze for patterns…blessings and good luck…you can do this!..

Apple cider vinegar in my lunchtime salad took my 2hr number from 130 to 110. Hadn’t thought about trying that at night.
