Why am I so cold all of the time! ugh!

So i am one of those people who would rather be curled up to a heater when most people want to open a window… my History prof is a lovely lady who likes to open all of the windows in the middle of winter when she is sweating and i am SHIVERING…god bless her… ahah… i’m freezing all of the time! when i’m at home i have these HIDEOUS giant fuzzy pink socks that i find are the only things that can warm my feet haha … and my fingers are so cold right now that i feel like putting mits on… inside…
I have always been like this, however it has increased lately… I have cut out alot of carb from my daily meals, and I am also vegetarian. Yet i’m taking iron supplements so I dont think i’m anemic… anyone relate?

Completely, my fingers and toes are always freezing. This may be a bold rather non of my business questions, but are you underweight? Both my sister (very slim) and I have probs with freezing fingers and toes, so I don’t necessarily know if its related to D. I know for certain that when I eat less I feel colder, digestion gives off a lot of heat/energy ( don’t quote me on this, read it somewhere).

Low body temperature can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. You should have your thyroid checked at the next doctors appointment.

Autoimmune hypothyroidism is very common with type 1 diabetes.

I am cold ALL the time, but apparent my thyroid function is still “good enough”! The doctor is keeping an eye on it though!

I thought this was something all women experienced?

Sorry Jill, I’m the exact opposite…I will break a sweat inside of a meat freezer.

I think your slender physique is probably the reason for the coldness, with carb cutting decreasing your bodyfat even more. Fat layers are definitely good for warmth, if nothing else.

You could try thermogenic supplements like cayenne pepper or green tea. They raise metabolism and create more body heat through thermogenesis…but may also burn fat in the long run.

You could always make like Luke Skywalker and burrow inside of a warm Taun Taun that you sliced open with your light saber. Then again, you are a vegetarian, so slicing animals for warmth probably isn’t your cup of tea either.

What’s that supposed to mean ?

You are worse than the other fella !

Sorry me caveman not understand why woman so cold.

Hahaha all women I know are always cold. I’m like Dino- a walking furnace.

Alright boys-- behave yourselves!!

I actually am always cold and always have been. I used to think it made me “weak” (unlike you tough men). So I used to pretend that I was not cold, especially in front of boys.

They knew that they would never get an honest answer if they asked me the question “are you cold?”

Now I’ll admit, I’m always cold, but there might actually be biological reasons for it that go deeper than my woman-ness

I still say, get your thyroid checked!

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I’m pretty warm blooded. If it’s over 70 degrees F in the bedroom, I turn the ceiling fan on. Okay, I sleep under a quilt and a thermal blanket, plus I have flannel sheets on the bed - but it can get darn hot under all that insultation.

Dino, you are funny!

I reckon we all need warm males about !!! Women are cold because we are the weaker sex, so when we evolved we didn’t do a very good job of things, don’t even bother answering

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo joking by the way

Cold? Haven’t you heard of hot flashes?

“Don’t even bother answering” - hah! Speak for yourself, my dear. I don’t mean to brag, but I evolved quite nicely.

That is soooo right girlfriend! I warm up automatically after 50 it is called a HOT FLASH!!!

When I was on effexor and 20 lbs heavier I was always sweating and very hot.

Now I am freezing cold all the time, it is so foreign to me. Could it be the weight loss?? Not so sure. Another thing that is opposite of how things use to be is when my bgs is 100 or lower, I am soooooooooo COLD!!!

If my bgs is 150ish I feel just fine, not too hot and not too cold.

Craziness.

Ann, did you see the musical “Menopause?” You just reminded me of one of the songs: My Own Private Summer.

Yvonne I wish I could say yes!
Why don’t you sing it for me.

Really tho my twin sister Mary Ann is type1 diabetic. She is always cold.
Her Dr. said it is due to poor blood circulation.
I don’t know maybe we should all stand on are heads right now for 5 minutes. That should help.
