You all have been such great support in the short time ive been here and guess what

At about 2am i woke up and felt odd. So i grabbed my meter and checked, it was 98! i was like whoa!!! i had a glass of milk, then went to bed; about 20 minutes later i was still awake so i checked again and it said 95! i didn’t know if i should go to sleep at that level, so i had more milk and a rice crispy treat, (lol i feel 5 years old and sneaking it) It went up to 110 about 15 minutes later. I went to bed and slept.

7amish i woke up again feeling odd. GUESS WHAT, the first time EVER my reading was 83! i am so excited and idk! attached a photo as proof  haha.

thank you all for supporting me with your kinds words and encouragement!

It is always wonderful to hear good news in the morning! I’m so glad for you =)

Thank you! I know its great to wake up to that!!

Wow!! You are doing wonderful! Good for you.

I know, a big wow! i’m shocked!

Fabulous! Doesn’t get any more perfect than that!

I know. its only been a week and a half since i started so its even more exciting for me!

Nothing like seeing a perfect morning number. Best motivation in the world! You’re doing great. Take a bow.

Wow this is a complete turn around!

Definitely something to be proud of!

I echo what everyone else is saying…great job!! Btw 95 is not low and you don’t need to treat it. Some people treat under 70, some not till under 60. You just will put yourself on a yoyo with things like rice crispy treats!

I sometimes treat in the 90s. It depends on when I last bolused and how fast Im dropping.

suggestion: treat with glucose tablets, use 1 or 2 when in the 80s or 90s. it wont raise you too high, but enough to feel comfortable you wont continue to drop

95 is not low, but it’s good that Jen did treat it because it’s clear she was dropping further to have awaken to 83. Her overnight basal may need adjusting because two glasses of milk & a rice crispy treat is a lot of carbs to wake up not high.

I think if I remember from past posts Jen might be like me and have been running uncontrolled for quite awhile. My “normal” was blood sugars of 200-300 so going to bed at anything less then 120-130 right now is scary!! I get the feelings of hypo in the 90s. I’m trying to turn over a new leaf and get things in line. Just got approved for the dexcom and am really looking forward to seeing the trends and getting better control  Good work Jen!!

Thank you. I am really trying to be good!

Oh i know! shocking even for me! lol I am proud

Yeah, I get nervous! i had a 95 or so once and then it dropped to 43. But i will work on not worrying!

I forgot to look for those at the store! i will get some!

Yeah. I felt okay tho. About 20 minutes after i woke up tho i was getting a little shakey and talking weirdly

Yeah, thats how i was but in the 400 and sometimes 500s. =/ so yeah i am not used to such low numbers, even when i was doing shots a year ago.

So glad for you! Keep up the good work!!!
