3 month appointment

I had my three month appointment at the endo today and I must be doing something right…

My A1C is 7.0!!! (sorry, just a tad happy!)

That’s down from 12.5 at diagnosis.

I was really worried because I’ve had some soaring high numbers these past few weeks, but I was really happy. I didn’t realize getting the A1C was so easy, I thought you had to get blood drawn.

Besides that, everything is fine. I had a really bad time at walmart pharmacy the other day…

We went in to get a refill on the Novopen needles. The pharmacist took about 20 minutes going “hmmmm, hmm, hold on a minute. just want to make sure… okay. hmmm. Let me talk to… oh. hmmm.” Then she finally told us that they were waiting on a shipment of the needles. It took her another ten minutes to tell us they had the same ones but a different brand.

Then it took ten more minutes to get those filled. When they were done, she told us that they were 2mm longer. The same size as the syringe (which I cannot stand!). Argh.

So I used one yesterday at lunch in my leg, for the second time. And it got a huge rash on it and looked like a giant bug bite.

According to the endo, this isn’t usual but since it only happened once, it’s not something to worry about. sigh of relief. I wonder what would happen if someone were allergic to insulin? Is that even possible?

CONGRATS ON THE A1c!! Keep it up!

Congratulations Sloane on the A1C!!!

I’m not allergic to insulin, however when I was on MDI before the pump, certain syringes gave me irritation due to the coating that is on them for insertion. You may want to mention that.

Hi Sloane:

Wow! What a drop in your A1c. Good job! Yes, some Diabetics are allergic to the newer synthetic Insulins so instead, they use the beef and pork Insulins that are still manufactured in the UK and a couple other countries.

WTG SLOANE!!!=0),wonderful wonderful news!,Keep up the great work!!!

Congratulations, Sloane!
Now did he take care of those nighttime lows you were having? Lower some Lantus? Show you how to get rid of those lows? Nice going!

Thank you so much guys, for the awesome support and videos!

We didn’t do much about the nighttime lows, but we’ve been doing 1 unit for 20 carbs at night.

Thank you sooo much!

im meeting with my endo in april O_O. im scared cuz i dont like doctors…especially my endo. do they just take you a1c? or do they do other things???

They just did the A1C and talked about a lot of things! And then they like checked my feet and arms and stuff. It’s not bad at all! good luck!
