A1C results

I just got the results for my first A1C since I was diagnosed.

I am thrilled that it was 5.8

Must mean that so far I am doing something right

Congratulations! Wonderful. May I please know your secret? Keep on doing what you are doing!

Totally awesome!

I wish I had a secret lol

I still eat most of the things I used to, but cut out almost all of the high sugar things like pop. Still have the occasional chocolate bar (maybe a couple of times a month) and the odd piece of pie. The pop and iced-tea etc that I drink are almost always made with splenda. (took a long time to find stuff that was not made with aspartame)
Still have Subway subs once in awhile, or kraft dinner. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense if you ask me. lol

I remember when I first saw the nutritionist and showed her my meter readings for the last week (4 times a day for a week) and she said “your numbers are great! whatever you are doing keep it up!”

At that time I was eating EVERYTHING I normally would have before diagnosis except pop and chocolate bars.

I watch things a lot more carefully now and often will have a cobb salad or something for supper (who would have imagined that I would EVER have just a salad for supper) lol

Congrats, I had I believe 5.9. You beat me. What a bad day I have! LOL. Keep up the good work!

JB.

Great Job. keep it up!

Wow! Indeed you must be doing things right. Great job!

That’s great! Congratulations! You look very physically fit in your picture. Do you exercise a lot? That could certainly have a big affect on the BG and A1C results.

Thanks for the comments everyone  Sorry I beat you Johnben lol

@ Thomas, It’s not a picture of me just a movie character. I’m not quite that fit yet but I am slowly making progress
I usually use the exercise bike 1/2 hour 5 times a week.

One of the odd things is the A1C is the last 3 months, that would include one month where I did not know I was diabetic and was eating normally. Very strange.

sounds like you are doing a great job. keep it up

YEA for you! Keep it going.

Really great! Hope I can get to that number in the future.
Keep up what you have done to get to that A1C.

I was wondering. Can you suggest some form of exercise for a person who can;t do a lot? I have pulmonary fibrosis. I don’t really have a problem breathing. It’s just that my disease limits the amount of
air I can take in. That makes me short of air pretty quickly. If I go too long. I do have a problem breathing.

I know, Doesn’t make sense after my first statement.

Fantastic Imhotep …could it be true, what they say: people in British Columbia are the " fittest" ??

Great results!! I was diagnosed with T2 just about a week after you were, and I am due for my first A1c since then at the end of this month. Keeping my fingers crossed that mine will be somewhat close to yours!! Actually, if it under 7, I will be pleased (since I started out at 10!!).

Congratulations again!
Marsha

Well those of us who are not, are working on it nel

I will keep my fingers crossed for you too Marsha.

I just want you to know that I am REALLY JEALOUS of you!!! LOL…

Keep up the good work… It’s about time we hear more success stories!!!
