I want to upload my results for my doctor, and have used CareLink (medtronic's website) in the past, but the Verio meter is not compatible with it.
How can I electronically sent my blood sugars to my doc?
Have any of you done it?
I have looked at lifescan's website and can't figure it out there. If any of you are tech savvy enough to post a link in your reply, it would be greatly appreciated.
One touch has software you download and you need to get a cable from them to plug into the verio. Then you can upload the info and then send it to your doctor.
The power cord used to recharge the VerioIQ actually doubles as a USB data cable so no need to purchase seperately, unless the power cord is packaged differently in the US.
As Alicia said the OneTouch software will do what you want, just not integrated with your pump data
I too am continuing to use the VerioIQ as the problems it was recalled for occur once your BSL is 56.8mmol or higher. If I was getting that high I'd have more to worry about than my meter turning off and would have done something about it long before.
I am using both the Ultra 2 and Verio IQ with no problems but I do plan on getting the replacement Verio soon. I forgot to ask my Pharmacist if they have the new lots yet.
For any Canadians who have one and would like a replacement meter, here is the Recall/Replacement notice.
Thanks, Glen, I am continuing to use my verio for the same reasons. I have never had my blood sugar that high, and especially since I wear a sensor, I doubt it would get that high without me knowing.
I tried the link you posted, which is the same page I looked at last night. Do I have to order the software or is there a place I can download it online for free? As you know, the USB cable comes with the meter, so I don’t need that.
The website also lists the meters that work with that software, and the Verio isn’t on the list. Have you used it to upload your numbers?
I've got the Verio IQ and have had no trouble using the OneTouch software. The software allows further export should you wish to use other packages. I believe Diasend also works with the VerioIQ. I have applied for a replacement meter but am not worried about the problems with readings over 1000 mg/dl.
You can download(for free) the software from the link I posted.
Click on "GET SOFTWARE"
The first option is displayed as
Already own the cable?
Make sure you have the latest software (version 2.3.3) by downloading here.
In that paragraph the "downloading here" is a link to download the software. All the instructions are there.
The oneTouch software definitely does work with the VerioIQ meters. The meter will also upload to Diasend but the Diasend site is designed for Animas/Dexcom not Medtronic and to create a Diasend account I vaguely remember having to enter my pump serial number(maybe), I'd be surprised if a Medtronic SNo would be accepted.
Since the VerioIQ has been recalled I am not sure if Medtronic will even make CareLink compatible, you could contact them and ask.
Another option (although a little more button pushing) is for EVERY BSL you test is to enter that into the pump. You can use the pump to simply record your BSL even if you are not going to deliver a bolus. It is an extra step, testing on the meter then entering it into the pump but then you have all your data in the pump and able to be uploaded into CareLink
Like I said it is a bit more work and just a work-around to the situation but if it works for you to get the reports you want then glad I could help.
I am sure we are not the only ones still using the VerioIQ meters and the recall was 'voluntary' as far as I know so I would still contact Medtronic and ask them to make CareLink read the meter directly. One can hope!
I have recently switched from Medtronic to Animas so am able to upload the meter without problems but IF I do switch back in the future and still using the VerioIQ It would be good if it worked. Then again in 4 years when due for a new pump a LOT will have changed in the meter world and there is bound to be something else bright shiny and new.......maybe CGMS will take over completely AND be affordable to us folk that have to pay out of pocket.
It says I have to put a pump SN in..do I absolutely need to have the pump in there to be able to download meter readings? I only want to use the diasend for the meter, don't have a pump right now...
