I have federal BC and have been told that it has a contract with Diabetes Management & Supply distributor which will be where I order Dex supplies. I think there are a few fep hl insurance folks on here. I wonder what your experience is with this company if you have the Dex and get your supplies there.
Thanks.
I actually just ordered my second dexcom from DM&S and it should ship on Monday. My original Dex and Pump were ordered from them in September of 2010. I used them exclusively and had no problems with them until my insurance deductible rolled in January of this year. They wouldn't let me finance my supplies until my high deductible was met. At that point, I started ordering my pump and testing supplies from Liberty Medical. Haven't had any problems with Liberty, but when I had to order my replacement Dex, I chose to go back to DM&S since they are a local company for me and they understand BCBS/LA. Other than being unable to finance my first order each year, I've never had a problem with them. They are very nice and always helpful on supply orders.
Stay away from Edgepark! I will private message you about the BCBS contact at Dexcom
DexCom is an approved FEP provider.
Thanks Carman. I am glad to hear your experience. I would prefer to use Liberty Medical since I get my pump supplies there already. I asked for a rush order due to some personal issues so they decided to use DM&S and said that was "the best distributor for my insurance." I think DM&S jumped on it because all suppliers like to get federal insurance patients.
If I am stuck with dms, I guess it will work out! Thanks again.
