I've already been on contact with one person in my area. But I wanted to hear from others in getting their Dexcom G4....I am half way there to see if all of my drs accept the commonwealth care I have. But just overall wanted to get your experiences with them. I was using neighborhood diabetes as they were right in Joslin. But once again if my drs only accept what i have, I'll have to switch...I did this before as well.
Hi Amy,
I use edge park to get my Dexcom supplies. I haven’t had any issues. I set up an auto refill with them because my insurance pays for a 3 month supply so every 3 months they email me when they mail it out and it shows up a couple of days later!
ooo auto refill...that is going to help me big time as I can never remember when I am due for a refill...I am thinking of going through them as well for test strips. I had that issue with neighborhood. Luckily my current supplies was finally mailed. I'll have to remember auto refill
We have used Edgepark for years. From our pump supplies to our Dexcom sensors, etc. No issues at all! Fast shipping, easy to work with . At least that's been our experience!
thank you guys!!!! Now I just gotta find out of my team of drs accept the ins I have before I begin to get my order in. then I'll have to tell my rep at neighborhood diabetes that I have to switch
I was very unhappy with Edgepark. As you can see in the other responses, I seem to be in the minority. I would never go back to them, but many others seem to like them quite well. Hopefully, the issues I had with them are not common.
I somewhat had issues with Neighborhood...I just got my masshealth managed care card. So the vendor I was using is not in network. I also only have 1 dr that is not in network so I'll have to call patient registration to find out from them if he takes it and if not I'll have to msg his office to see what I can do about switching to a different dr. I'll be sad to have to switch one dr but happy all of my others take what I have! So at least its only 1 verses 5 (total including the one that doesnt take my plan) that I see. However my psychiatrist wants me to go to a talk therapist. That type of things is covered under my new insurance but he isnt covered.
I'll have to email my rep over at neighborhood diabetes to see what can I do to get the dexcom G4 as I know I've been in contact with my vendor and dexcom. So I hope this wont change what I want.
I use Edgepark for my G4 and the experience has been mixed. The initial order was handled quickly and efficiently. The first sensor reorder was difficult though. Very long wait times on the phone and problems with the website. Finally got the website issues resolved and then learned Dex sensors were not available for order on the website (they say this will be changing though). After long wait times on the phone and emails, finally got the sensors reordered and then received them quickly. I would have preferred going through Dex directly, but that no longer works with my insurance. I'm now set up for auto refills so hopefully that will go smoothly.
I went through animas for my pump supplies and that was a horrible experience. I'll never do that again! So I rather go through a vendor that can help me get the supplies I need. I do contact dexcom for questions I have, etc.
Hi Amy. I just -well a month ago switched to Edgepark from Edwards, please believe Me
it is A VERRY good thing , for me anyway they actually answer the phone and deserve A
prize for Customer service ..
Hope that helps
I think it is. Neighborhood here is commonwealth care aka no insurance here you go type of a thing..n ETA: Found my ins card as I said in the first msg that I couldnt find it.
I have used edgepark since december '12 (so only a few months) because my insurance company requires it. My experience has been mixed.
There tends to be very long wait times on hold. Last month they billed my credit card for my sensors after they also got paid for them by my insurance and then they made me wait 10 days to return the money to my credit card. I only noticed the double billing when my credit card bill came a month later.
Sometimes the shippment gets sent within the time they tell me and sometimes it is 2-4 days later.
However, the one time I needed them sent right away because I was running out sooner then expected because one fell off (before I realized they could be used for more then 7 days) they got it to me next day.
The customer service reps area usually very nice and try to be helpful, but not knowledgeable about the products. Hope this helps
It does help. I just need to get it all done right. As I mentioned I went through animas for my pump stuff and that was just a huge mistake. So lesson learned.
Not sure if I'll go through dexcom or not. I get emails from various reps so its all confusing (i prefer email communication as I do not hear that well on the phone). I am hoping it will all be straightened out and can go from there.
overall I see a few that are mixed and a few that had great experiences.
I used Edge Park for about 4 years without any problems, and always had good service with very fast delivery. I typically got my order in-hand within 2 to 3 days, and I never waited more than 4 days.
I always paid in cash out of pocket, so I can not comment on their performance related to insurance supported purchases.
I stopped using Edge Park about a year ago when Abbott Diabetes Care decided to stop selling glucose sensors for their Freestyle Navigator continuous glucose monitor to USA customers.
