Anyone wear their sensor on their "back"?

Okay without going into to much detail my “lovehandles” reach pretty far around my back. I’ve thought for years that there was enough…well, “enough” there to actually do an insertion for my pump, now that I’ve got my new Dex I was wondering how it would do back there. Has anyone else done this? I’ve wondered about it it would get irritated or bumped during the day from chairs and things but I’m inclined to think probably not as it’s not really on my “Back” but on my side " past where my arm hangs down by about 2 - 3 inches.

Anyway just thought I’d throw that out there and see if anyone had tried anything like that.

Worth a shot, sounds as if you’re built right there  I’d put it in horizontally.
My favorite is my inner thigh, just above where my legs meet about 1/3 way down. May try back/side love handles next time!My problem is reaching with limited ROM.

I often use my lower back / upper buttox for my sensor. It works find there. I do put it in horizontally. The hardest part is just reaching it for the insertion!

My son only wears his there - he doesn’t actually have much fat - the needles always come out bent (is that from hitting muscle? I don’t know,) but they work really well, so we use it.

Thanks everyone, I’ll give it a shot when my current one runs out.

I use my love handles and get better readings. The only trouble I’ve had is my jeans sometimes pulls it off.

my daughter uses her love handles as one of her rotation sites, she also doesn’t have much fat there, but she really doesn’t have much fat anywhere. the readings are usually very accurate, i have found that her back is the one area that she complains about it stinging when we do insertion. No problems with stinging on other sites, so we just use emla on her back.

I tried this with my pump infusion site and it was awful. My love handle reached around too, at least enough to not make me worried about inserting the infusion set there. The site was on my back midway between my side and spine and about a handwidth above the top of my buttock. I only have my sets in for about 3-4 days, but it got itchy and irritated and red. I have a long commute (2 hours round trip) and work on a computer, so I was leaning against it in the carseat and desk chair all day. Which didn’t bother me as far as having a “lump” back there, but it got sweaty and itchy and red.

Of course, finding a new good site place is worth trying it, so i’d say give it a go at least once. I wrap it around as far as i can go without it actually being “behind” me - all the way back on the side before it “turns the corner” - and that works fine. And based on your last sentence, that may be what you mean.

I hang my pump off my shirt collar at night, and it still reaches, but there isn’t as much slack in the tubing.
