Are you addicted to TuDiabetes? How often do you visit?

I know Manny posted a poll asking how often do you visit Tudiabetes.com but I wanted to post a forum about it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only person who has withdraws when I haven't logged on at least once a day. I am so addicted I added Tudiabetes to my Iphone...lol I know it's bad but at least I am not ashamed to admit it...YES! I am addicted are you?

I log on at least 3 or more times a day! What about you?

My name is Mike and I’m a Tudiabetes addict! I love it!!! Answer questions helping out and welcoming people! It make me feel great!

Well, I joined 14,July,found another intellectual world which I miss, found interesting broad minded people,so I am addicted as long as there are more there for me to learn and enjoy.

Hi Cherise,
Yes, I am addicted. I am not sure I would call it addicted exactly, but my heart is very tied up in all that i do. And i don’t think I could manage a day anymore of not talking to my family or finding out how they are doing. My family consists of my husband, my children, my grandchildren, our in-laws, our friends, my Tu diabetes family, our neighbors. And the list goes on.
Tu diabetes helps keep me grounded, focused and listening. I have never felt alone in anything i do, but being connected to so many people in our big family lets me focus on more than just a small world. In caring and sharing and reaching out , Tu diabetes lets me give what is in my heart. And i get so very much in return. I guess maybe addicted is a good word. Tu diabetes is like a heart beat and breathing to me. I hope we keep on growing. There is always room for more.

Cherise, I more than additiced! I visite here about 4 times a day and talk to almost everybody here! I got a 6 month unwanted vacation from here due to computer malfuction ( overloaded it) Whatever but as soon as I got it fixed came back here 1st!!! Love this place and Manny for thinking of it!!

Hey Debb,

Did I forget to say I will take the computer away from anybody to see what’s happened while I was gone and take time out taking care of my granddaughters on weekends to be here?? HA!

I log-on at least 3 times a day…

I believe i am addicted just as i am addicted to the presence of good friends and family. One thing i have noticed over the years is that people with diabetes are different for “normal” people in a way that is difficult to generalize.or classify. Maybe it is their kindness, or their intellect or curiosity…I just know I appreciate the company of diabetics.

peace and love
danny

That’s a good thing!!! HA! Even though my hubby thinks I spend too much time here! He finally quit arguing with me about it!! HA!!

Debb-

Too funny!

Since developing diabetes last year ;this is the first time that I haven’t felt alone in this… I’ve gotten more asnwers here in a short time than I’ve got from the doctor.I’ve found help in wading through the medical info. I check in every day. I don’t know if it’s an addiction . I think of it as a lifeline…
I only wish that we had a spell check here!

I forgot, I average about 3 times a day checking in here!

Yep, I don’t think that I need to convince anyone that I am on here ALL the time.

TuDiabetes opened a whole new world to me and helped me manage my diabetes from a whole new perspective.

BUT now I am trying to figure about a way to “cut back”. I need to finish my PhD and I need touch back on diabetes online time  We’ll see how well that goes!!!

yes, I get a urge to correct every time I read “basil” instead of “basal”.

Feel free to correct my spelling any time .I know it stinks. By the way basil insulin is for those who like to add herbal therapy to their treatment.

Same, usually!
Now that school had started, not as much. Maybe once a day?
But TuDiabetes is like “Myspace” but better, because this is a place were everyone knows what your going through!
Since i dont have Myspace, im on this whenever i get on the computer to chat on AIM.

Count me in as a TB addict too. I check in at least 4-5 times a day…I love it here!

Not addicted yet, but I could see it happening. I’ll keep my guard up and use some of your stories as cautionary tales!

TuDiabetes is actually pretty amazing…
I can, in fact, clearly recall searching online for any sort of diabetes support group in my area 8-9 years ago and coming up with nothing worthwhile. It honestly has been a long lonely journey on my own up to the present. I can’t imagine what a help something like this would have been, both in terms of support and motivation.

Still, I’ll endeavor to keep visits below 30 min a day if possible!

But Criag your not on that lonely ride now!! When I found this site I thought I had struck gold!! I grew up in a very small town with like 200 in it and noone had diabetes but me now look how many ppl’s here!! By the by I was the 2nd youngest in that town too!! HA!!

I just joined this week. I have heard from so many people it is amazing!!! It’s been a rough weerk- I’m a teacher, and school starts on Tuesday. I have been through a rough time-- I am insulin resistant. Following a stomach virus my blood sugar readings went into the 400’s!!! I am scared!!! I know that this web site will help me. I suffer from retinopathy and neuropathy. I want to feel better!!!
